BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to order the following piece of equipment from the Alban Tractor Equipment Co. 1 New Caterpillar D4 Tractor with HT4 Traxcavator , No; 44 Hydraulic Control, - Electric starting system, Rain Traps (2), Crankcase guard, 11/4 yd; capacity bucket, Bucket teeth, for the sum as per bid-- $10,971.30 There being no further business upon motion duly made seconded, and carr- - ied Council adjourned. -r' �.,a..J rt. • .a� Mayor. Recorder. REGULAR NOVEMBER 10, 1952. It a regular meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber, on Monday November, 19, 1952, there were present E. S. Dailey, Mayor, Horace M. Hallett, Recorder, Vernon L. Claggett, Emmerson H. James, Harry F. Newton, Morton Riddle, and Winslow Williams, Council- men. The minutes of the previous regular and special meeting were approved and upon motion of Harry F. Newton, seconded by Morton Riddle, and unaminously carr- ied were approved as read. The Auditor-Treasurer read his monthly report for the month of October 1952, and presented the current bills, and upon motion of Emmerson H. James, seconded by Harry F. Newton, and unaminously carried the following resolution was adopted: ' BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia, that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he id hereby authorized and directed to pay the • following bills: - Virginia Electric & Power Co 236.76' t" C & P Telphone Co .80 ✓ L. Claggett, seconded by Morton Riddle, and Un- aminously carried the following .resolution was adopted: BE IT RESOLVED, by the.Council .of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the Auditor-Treasurer, be and.he is.hereby authorized and directed to pay to each member of the Leesburg Fire Company, the sum of $20.00, and that in the 74: event any member of the said Fire Company, shall owe to the Town of Leesburg, any taxes, water rents, or other levies, the same shal be deducted from the $20:002 BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in, Virginia, that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to write off any Town Taxes against the property of the Leesburg Fire Company. Upon motion of Morton Riddle, seconded by Vernon L. Claggett, and unamin- ously carried, Council authorized the Auditor-Treasurer to have a new sewage laterial run to the Old Grafton property, for John Allen Uohnston. • Upon motion Of Harry F. Newton seconded by Emmerson H. James, and unamin- ously carried the following resolution was adotpted; BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the Auditor- Treasurer, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to pay the regular policemen for the extra time they worked on Holloween night. Council authorized and directed the Auditor-Treasurer, to void all park- ing tickets given on November 4th; (it being election day° and to refund any and all fines collected for the violation of parking on the said date. Mayor Dailey read two bids for the work to be done on the street lights. These bids were turned over to the Street Light Committee, with the request that they let either they so ddsired. Council agreed that they would furnish the paint to paint the out side and inside of the Fire House. Mr. Joseph Schokey, appeared before Council and stated that he was intrest - ed in entering into a contract with the'' Town of Leesburg, and other Towns in Loudoun County, whereas he would collect trash and •garbbage and haul it to the land fill which the Town of Leesburg was planning to set up, and in turn he would pay the Town of Leesburg 883'Yi for the desposing of it. He also stated that he was intrested in enter into a contract with the Town of Leesburg, where- ' • by he would collect the trash and garbage in the Town of Leesbur. Council told Mr. Schokey that they were intrested in his offer but they felt they should' first, get their land fill in operation, and after that, and when Mr. Shokey could give them a definite figure as to such cost they would like to have him appear again before Council to discuss this matter further. e There being no further business upon motion duly made seconded, and carr- ied, Council Adjourned. yor .
