Claggett, and un- aminously carried the following resolution was adopted: BE I2 RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburgin Virginia, that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to have the Tva trees in front of Lloyd Slacks home sprayed. Council authorized the Auditor-Treasurer to permit persons/diving with- in 3 miles of the town to dump trash into the town land fill at a rate of $5.00 per load, and the Trash Committee were requested to assist the Auditor- - Treasurer to prepare a suitable notice regarding this matter to be published in the newspaper. • Uponmotion of Harry F. Newton, seconded by Winslow Williams, and un- aminously carried the followin - g resolution was adopted: BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council in the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the.Auditor-Treasurer, be and• he is hereby authorized and directed to have the let parking meter south of Gills Radio Shop removed and this space be made a truck loading zone.• . SPECIAL MAY 25, 1953. - At a special meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Leesburg , in • Virginia held in the Council Chamber, on Monday May, 25, 1953, at 8:00 o'clock . - P. M., there were present Horace M. Hallett, Recorder, Vernon L. Claggett, Fmmmr- son H. James, Harry F. Newton, Morton Riddle, Thelma J. Smoot, and Winslow Williams, Councilmen. - The Mayor being absent, Council appointed Horace M. Monett to preside at the meeting. • I _ The Recorder stated that the Special Meeting was called to consider certain_ • zoning districts, and that the said meeting had been published twice in a news • paper published in the said town of Leesburg. The Recorder presented the report of the Board of Zoning Appeals, _and upon Potion at: Mortbh--Ai ddl'e,Cseeonded by Vernon L. Claggett, and unaminously carried, - the Following resolution was edopte&: • BE IT. Claggett, and unaminously • carried were approved as read. The Auditor Treasurer read his monthly statement for the month of May, 1953, andpresented the current bills, and upon motion of Harry F. Newton, seond- ed Vernon L. Claggett, and unaminously carried' the following resolution was adopted: BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Tome of Leethurg in Virginia that -the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to pay the following bills: Virginia Electric & Power Co; 274.41 L. James, seconded by Morton Riddle, and un- aminously carried the following resolution was adopted: BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia, that .the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to hale a new side walk constructed on the East aide of Liberty Street across from John Mason, and that 50% of cost for said construction.is to be collect- ed from the Metropolitan Masons Lodge. • The Auditor-Treasurer was instucted to have a light installed on the light pole in front of McDonald & Jenkins Garage and one to- be -installed in front of the home of R. C. Herndon on King Street. • The Recorder read the resignation of M. H. Fogle, one of the members - • of;-the--Tonin Police-Force, ando.upon motion bf-Morton-Riddle;.seconded by Vernon L' - Claggett, and unaminously carried the resignation be accepted with regret.
