Upon motion of Reginal K. Gheen, seconded by &nmerson H. James, and carried by a vote of 3 to 1 Gheen, James, and Lowenbach for Gill against, the following I resolution was adopted: • BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that Victor Jackson'ssalary be and it is hereby set at $195.00 per month, and that Lewis Ball and Athey salary be and it is hereby set at $190.00 per month. ;• Upon motion duly made seconded. and carried Council adjourned. . Hallett, Record- er, Reginald K. Gheen, Howard B. Gill, Emmerson H. James, Maurice R. -Lowenbach, Jr; • - rand Frank Raflo, Councilmen. The minutes of the previous regular and special^.meeting were read and upon motion of Maurice R. Lowenbach Jr; seconded by Emmerson H. James; and-unaminously . carried, they were approved as read. The Auditor-Treasurer read his monthly report for the month of September, 1953, his Quarterly report for the quarter ending September 30, 1953, and upon motion of Reginald K. Gheen, seconded by Maurice R. Lowenbach Jr; 'and unaminously carr- ied, arried, the following resolution was adopted: • WHEREAS, the Auditor-Treasurer has this,day presented to the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, a quarterly report of all receipts and analysis of all disbursements for the months of July, August, and September, 1953, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, that the said quarterly report of the Auditor-Treasurer be and it is hereby approved and accepted by said Council. • BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia,. that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and instructedto have '� _ a copy of said quarterly report published oncec,in.anewspaper-::published in said • town and also post a copy of said report in front of the Court' House in said town. James, and unami.nous- • ly carried the following resolution was adopted: BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to have the paving and water sealing of Buick Street done and that the said price for the said work shall not exceed $300.00. Upon motion of Maurice R. Lowenbach, seconded by Emmerson H. James, and unaminously carried the following resolution was adopted: BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia, that the Recorder be and he is hereby authorized and instructed to notify the Loudoun - County School Board, the 6ontractor, and subcontractor now working of the school water main, that the Town of Leesburg will not turn water into the school water main until the plans and specifications are fully complied with. • Upon motion of Reginald•K. Gheen; seconded by Frank Raflo, and•unaminous- • ly carried the following resolution was adopted: - • BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, that - • the Auditor-Treasurer be'and he is hereby authorized and directed to have the following sidewalk; curb and gutter constructed, (1) on the north and south sides of Loudoun Street from the Galliher property, and from the Carr property to Church Street, (2) on the east side of Wirt Street from the School property to . t the Nora Hatcher property, and that when the said work is being done on Wirt Street the Town agrrees to dig the ditch and lay pipe, and that the said pipe shall be paid for by Mr. George J. Durfey, (3) on South•Street•from Buick to Town limits. Upon motion of Frank Raflo, seconded by Maurice R. Lowenbach, Jr; and un- aminously carried the following resolution wastadopted: • BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, that. the Building Committee be and they are hereby authorized and instructed to.draw up prospectus of sale listing mets and bounds, and any reservations; and to-adver- tise the Town property known as-the Town Hall Building for. sale in sealed bids to be in the hands of the Auditor-Treasurer not later than 10 A. M.,on Novemb • - • or the 9th, reserving the right to reject any and all bids. Mr. Gheen read a letter he received from Mrs. Lanck regarding the certain- • ed Greyhound buses thht no longer made Leesburg one of its stops.
