' At a special meeting of the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber on Tuesday June 29, 1954, - at 7 :30 o ' clock P. M; there .were present Horace M. Hallett, Record- er, Reginal K. Gheen, Howaed B. Gill, Emmerson H. James, Maurice R. - Lowenbach, Jr; Frank Raflo, and Morton Riddle,lll, Councilmen. Due tobth'e A'bsgffteoafaMayoreNihkelsy Horace M. Hallett,was re- quested by Council to preside at this meeting.- Upon motion of Emmerson H. James, seconded by ,Reginald K. Gheen and unaminously carried Frank Raflo was elected to serve as record- er dt this meeting. Mr. Robert K. Wilson appeared before Council and presented a rough draft of the survey of the area that is being considered for annexation, and requested council to study the draft and make any suggestion it felt would be helpful. Mr. Wilson request another payment of $1,000.00 on the work that he had completed for the town and upon motion of. Morton Riddle 111, seconded by Reginal K. Gheen, and unaminously carried the following resolution was adopted : BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virinia, that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to pay to Mr. Robert K. Wilson, •the sum of $1,000.00 as another payment on the work that the said Mr. Wilson had render- . ed for the Town, in its survey work. At 8 o ' clock P. M; the notice regarding the calling.of a :special meeting of Council to co ndider the reccommendation of the Board of Zoning Appeals was read, and upon motion of Frank Raflo, seconded by Reginal K. Gheen, and unaminously carried the follow- ing resolution was adopted : BE IT RESOLVED;, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, that the Council accepts the recommendations of the Board of Zoning Appeals to rezone the parcel of land situated, lying, an d being on East Fayette Street in the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia said parcel or tract of land being the same land discribed in those certain. deeds dated May14, 1888 and May 9, 1891, recorded in the Clerk' s. Office of Loudoun County, Virginia and being the same land of which the late Mary Waters deied seized and which, upon her death passed to Charles, Waters, Mary E. Waterd, R. Waters, and Fannie E.. West and which parcel of land is bounded by lands of Grimes, Ratio, • and others, be and it is hereby rezoned from Residental No.1 to Business District. Upon motion of Frank Raflo, seconded by Morton Riddle 111, and unaminously carried_ the following resolution was adopted : BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in _ Virginia, that George E. Ward, Auditor-Treasurer and Raymond Hough Pumping Station Operator be given a vacation of two weeks or pay at the regular rate in lieu thereof. Mr. Ahalt, and Lowe, appeared before council and discussed _ the matter of laying the sewer line, and by whom the cost would be bore. No action was taken in regards to this matter.
