Upon motion of Howard B. Gill , seconded by C. R. Lytle , and
unanimously carried , the following resolution was adopted :
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council 't�thhe Town of
Leesburg, in Virginia , that the T
- be and he is hereby authorized and directed to
sign a contract with the Hankey' s Radio Service
to keep the Town police car radio in operation

for a sum of Eight Dollars ($8. 00) per month.
Upon motion of Howard B. Gill , seconded by C. R. Hollandsworth,
and unanimously carried , Council authorized the Auditor-Treasurer
to sell any discarded police uniforms at a price he deemed approp-
riate .
Upon motion of C. R. Hollandsworth, seconded by Howard B. Gill ,
and unanimously carried , the following resolution was adopted :
11 BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of
Cc Leesburg , in Virginia , that the Auditor-Treasurer
Cc and the Police Committee be and they are hereby
Q authorized and instructed to have two ( 2) tele •

- phones installed at such places in the Town as
they deem necessary, to be used as police call
boxes. •
There being no further business, upon motion duly :made and
seconded and carried , the meeting adjourned .

Special Meeting , January 25, 1956
At a special meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Leesburg , in Virginia , held in the Council Chamber on Wednesday, ;
January 25, 1956 , at 2: 00 P .M. , there were present : E. B. White ;
Mayor ; Horace M. Hallett , Recorder; George J . Durfey; Reginald K.
Sheen, Howard B. Gill , C. R. Hoiiandsworth and Thelma J. Smoot ,
Councilmen.
Upon motion of Reginald K. Gheen, seconded by Thelma J . Smoot ,
and unanimously carried , the following resolution was adopted :
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of
Leesburg , in Virginia , that the Auditor-Treasurer ,o
_,e nd he is hereby authorized and directed to
the contract for the collection of garbage
a:_ ? Land trash within the Corporate limits of the Town
of Leesburg to Jesse Randolph for the sum of Five hundred and

Torty-one dollars,sizty-sii cents per ,month and that ,the
Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to see that all sections of the con-
tract are fulfilled . Accopy of said contract is
on file in the Town Office .
Upon motion of Thelma J . Smoot , seconded by George
J . Durfey, and unanimously carried , Gheen pot present
for the voting , the following resolution was adopted :

WHEREAS , a public hearing on annexation is set for public
hearing by the Senate Committee on counties , cities and Towns
Thursday , January 26, 1956, at 2:00 P .M. This bill calls for a
referendum in the area to be annexed and will effect pending
and future annexation cases. Its passage would virtually stop
all annexation in the opinion of many :people and it is therefore
urged that any cities and towns that are possible be represented
at this public hearing .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town
of Leesburg , in Virginia, that the Mayor be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to appoint such a delegate or delegates
he deems necessary to appear before the Senate Committee on
January 26 at 2:00 P.M. and that the expenses incurred by such
delegate or delegates be borne by the Town of Leesburg.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg ,
in Virginia , that the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and
directed to send telegrams to Lucas D. Phillips , delegate from
Loudoun County, and Senator Button opposing the passage of such
a bill .

seconded and carried the Council adjourned .

Special Meeting, January 31, 1956
At a special meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Leesburg, in Virginia , held in Council Chambers on Tuesday, January
31, 1956, there were present : E. B. White , Mayor; Horace M. Hallett,
Recorder; George J. Durfey; Reginald K. Gheen; Howard B. Gill and
C . R. Lytle, Councilmen.
'This special meeting having been called by the. Mayor, all members
of the Council duly notified and waiving 'notice;
•
Upon motion of Howard B. Gill, seconded by George J. Durfey and
unanimously carried, the following resolution was adopted :
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg,
in Virginia , that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to pay to Dalton Taylor the sum df
Four Hundred Twenty-five Dollars (3425.00) per month as
Town Inspector on the sewer and water works.
There being no further businees, upon motion duly made, the IImeeting adjourned.
