HomeMy Public PortalAbout1956_09_10 62 REGULAR SEPTEMBER 10, 1956 At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber Monday September, 10, 1956, there were ' present E. B. White, Mayor, Horace M. Hallett, Recorder, George J. Durfey, Reg- inald K. Gheen, Howard B. Gill, C. R. Hollandsworth, and Dr. James T. Jackson, _ Councilmen. The minutes of the regular meeting of August 13, 1956, and the special meeting of August 29, 1956, were read and upon motion of C. R. Hollandsworth, seconded by Reginald K. Gheen and unaminously carried were approved as read. The Auditor-Treasurer submitted his monthly statement for the month of August 1956, and submitted his current bills and upon motion of C. R. Hollands- worth seconded by Reginald K. Gheen and unaminously carried the following res- olution was adopted: BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to pay the following bills: . Lytle as a member of Town Council, and upon motion of George J. Durfey,seconded by Howard B. Gill and unaminously carried the said regisnat- ion of Mr. C. R. Lytle was accepted. Mr. Frank W. Hyde appeared before 'Council _and discussed with Council the plans of operating an abattoir in the Town of- Leesburg. Mr. Hyde stated that he was not in a position to file any foima1 application for said establish- ment at this time. A/ - The Sanitary Committee reported:to the Council that in compliance with Council request that they check on the seven properties that were not connect- ed to the Town's Sewage Sytem, that the check had been made and that they felt a letter should be sent to the said seven -property owners asking them why they felt they- should not be required to make the necessay connection to the sewage system.-Mayor White said that he would w4ite the letters. -- • Council agreed to hold a public hearing at it's regular meeting October, 8, 1956to consider the application of John Allen Johnston for the establishing a creamery collection station. - There being no further business and upon motion duly made seconded and unaminously carried Council adjourned. • EPAi ..11/4 //;1 (o}Q,�'"" p' Z, ' ' `-� .Mayor.. � .Recorder.
