REGULAR December, 12, 1956
At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Town of I/Leesburg in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber l2uesday December,
12, 1956 at 7 :30 o' clock P. M. there were present E. B. White Mayor,
Horace M. Hallett, Recorder, George J. Durfey, Reginald K. Gheen,
Howard B. Gill, C. R. Hollandsworth Councilmen.
The minutes of the previous months meetings' were read and upon
motion of Reginald K. Gheen, seconded by Howard B. Gill and unamin-
ously carried were approved as read.
Upon motion of Howard. B. Gill seconded by C. R. Hollandsworth
and unaminously carried, Council agreed to change Mr. Altizer con-
tract for the construction of the side walk on the east end of town
to be as followers : >That the side walk be .reduce in width lfoot,
that the side. walk ,be .constructed of concrete instead of black top,
and that no curb be-det.
The, Auditor-Treasurer submited his statement for the month of
November 1956 , and presented his curent bills and upon motion of C.
R. Hollandsworth, seconded by Reginlad K. Gheen and unaminously carr-
ied the following resolution was adopted:
BE IT. RESOLVED, by the .Council:of the Town of Leesburg in
Virginia that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized
• an; directed. .to pay the following bills : '

Upon motion of Reginald K. Gheen seconded by C. R. Hollands
worth and unaminously carried the following resolution was adopt-
ed :
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in
Virginia, .that the Auditor-Treasurer be, and heatsahereby auth-
orized and directed to pay to each member of the Leesburg Vol-
unteer Fire Company, the sum of G20.00 as a Christmas Gift for
the year 1956.
Council -requested .the Mayor to ask the Town Planning Commiss-
ion to celaborate with -the -County Planning Commission regarding
the location -of The Federal Association for Epilepsy Inc ; here
in the county.
-Mayor White gave the Council a report on the annexation
progress. • - . . -
Upon motion -of George -JDurfey .seconded by Reginald K. Gheen
and unaminously carried the following resolution was adopted :
-BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in
N Virginia that drainage under Nortt Street and along the natural
r drainage at a culbert on -Edwards Ferry Road be established, and th
M the elevations -on King and .Market Streets be established.

and unaminously carried the following resolution was adopted :
-BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in
Virginia that the Auditor-Treasurer be ,and he is hereby author-

of a -790.1 as oer. agr/eed. -

I• REGULAR JANUARY, 14, 1957.
At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Leesburg, in Virginia held in the Council Chamber on Menday Jan-
uary, 14, 1957 at 7 :30 o ' clock P. IA. , there were present E. B.
White, Mayor, George J. Durfey, C. R. Hollandsworth, Howard B. Gell
DR. James T. Jackson, and Reginald K. Gheen Councilmen.
Due to the absence of the Recorder and upon motion of Howard
B. Gill , seconded by Dr. James T. Jackson and unaminously carried
Reginald K. Gheen was elected to serve as Recorder-Pro-Tem.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and upon motion
of George J. Durfey , seconded by C. R. Hollandsworth and unamin-
ously carried were approved as read:
The Auditor-Treasurer presented his monthly statement for the
month of December, 1956, and his- quarterly report for the months
of October, November, and December, 1956, and his annual report
for the period ending December 31, 1956.
Upon motion of George J. Durfey seconded by C. H. Hollands-
worth and unaminously carried the following resolution was adopt-
ed :
WHEREAS, the Auditor-Treasurer has presented to Council of • •
• the Town. of Leesburg, in Virginia, a quarterly report and an an- ,
nual report on all receipts and an analysis of all disbursements
for the months of October, November, and December, 1956. and for
the year ending December, 31, 1956 ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of
Leesburg of Virginia, that the said quarterly and annual report
be and it is hereby. accepted by the said Council ;
