REGULAR MARCH 11, 1957
At a regular meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Town of Leesburg
in Virginia, held in the Council Chamber on Monday March, 11, 1957 at 7:30
o'clock P. M., there were present E. B. White, Mayor, Horace M. Hallett,
Recorder, Reginald K. Gheen, Howard B. Gill, C. R. Hollandsworth, and Dr.
James T. Jackson Councilmen.
The minutes of the regular meeting of February 13, 1957 and the special
meeting of February 25, 1957 were read and upon motion of Howard B. Gill,
seconded by C. R. Hollandsworth and unaminously carried were approved as 111 .
read.
The Auditor-Treasurer presented monthly report for the month of Feb-
ruary 1957, and his current bills, and upon motion of Reginald K. Gheen,
seconded by DR. James T. Jackson and unaminously carried the following
resolution was adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed
to pay the following bills:

Aor White. told Council that a Mrs. Ryan had informed him that she had
fall on ,or.near the town,parking lot and had received some injury and brok-
en her glasses. Council asked Mayor White to contact Mrs. Ryan and discuss
this matter further with:her. '
Mr. Lee of The Lee Brothers Contractors appeared before Council and
presented a petition signed by several property owners in the Edwards Ferry
Road section in which they stated that\they did not feel that if the Lee
Brothers were permitted to connect to the water line in that area that it
would reduce the water pressure to a point that would be unsatifactory to
them. After some discussion of this matter and upon motion of Reginald K.
• Gheen, seconded by Dr. James T. Jackson and unaminously _carried the follow-
ing resolution was adopted: Q
BE IT RESOVED, by the Council of the Town.of Beesburg in Virginia that
the request of Lee Brothers be refered to the Engineer Inspector for his re-
consideration and request that he report back to the Council on this matt-
er at a special meeting to be held on March 25, 1957.
Mayor White delivered to the Council an award he had accepted from
the Leesburg Chamber of Commerce, for the out standing work they had done
in the past year. Also Mayor White called to the attention of Council that
s one of its members Reginald K. Gheen had been awarddd the MAN of the YEAR
award by the Chamber of Commerce.
There being no further business and upon motion duly made seconded andd
carried Council=adjourned.
