HomeMy Public PortalAbout1958_05_05SPEC 162 • SPECIAL MEETING, May 5, 1958 After notice duly given by publication in a newspaper hav- ing general circulation in. the Town of Leesburg, a public hearing was held by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, on May 5, 1958 at 7 :30 P. M. in the Town Office Building, to consider the proposed amendments to the Leesburg Subdivision Ordinance,. at which meeting there were present: Howard -B. Gill, Vice Mayor Elinor M. Cunningham, Recorder; C. R. Hollandsworth, Reed Johnson, Mae Bass Mitchell, Oden Semones and J. Austin Wright. 11 • Upon motion of Mr. Hollandsworth, seconded by Mr. Wright , the following resolution was readopted, due to the fact that the proposed amendments to thedZoning Ordinance for the Town of Lees- burg had not been published for two consecutive weeks . BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and the Council of the Town of Leesburg, that the Zoning Ordinance be adopted with the changes as read. ( Said Zoning Ordinance appears later in this Minute Book and is appended hereto and incorporated herein by reference. ) , • and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Zoning Administrator be instructed and directed to publish the proposed changes in the iZoning Ordinance in some newspaper having .general circulation in the Town of Leesburg for two consecutive weeks, after which time a public hearing of interested citiaens .will be held. There being no further business to come before the meeting , upon motion duly made and seconded, adjourned. j� C 4-0. e c or der --- / Mdysr / SPECIAL MEETING, May 8, 1958 At a special meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Leesburg held on May 8, 1958 at 7 : 30 P. M. in Council Chambers, there were present: George J. Durfey, Mayor , Elinor M. Cunningham, Recorder; Howard B. Gill, C. R. Hollandsworth, Reed Johnson, Mae Bass Mitchell, Oden Semones and J. Austin Wright. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the Plumbing Code. Mr. Martin, the newly elected Town Attorney, read the Plumbing Code as proposed with the changes that he and. Mr. Mayers had worked on. Upon motion of Mr . Gill, seconded by Mr. Hollandsworth , it was : RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Leesburg, that Mr. Mayers obtain samples of questions that would be necessary for a plumber to obtain a license as master plumber. have Mr. Martin advised the Council that he would copies of the Plumbing Code available for each Councilmen for their further consideration, to enable them to be familiar with each and evefy provision thereof.
