emergency bond had been purchased to cover the construction of
the sewer line down Route No. 7 .
The Town Attorney presented copies of the proposed code
relating to Offenses and stated that the plumbing code and
electrical code were in the process of being put into position
to be presented to Council.
A letter was read from Howard W. Vesey with respect to the ,
case of M. & G. Motors against the Town. It was recommended
that the Council get Mr . Vesey ' s opinion as to the procedure
the Town should take .
Upon motion of Mr. Wright, seconded by Mr. Gill, the follow-
ing resolution was unanimously adopted:
WHEREAS, the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia,
deems it necessary to amend the Subdivision Ordinance for the
Town of Leesburg, in Virginia; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the proposed amendment be
published in the IOUDOUN TIMES MORROR, a newspaper having generl
circulation in the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, for two successive '
weeks ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT• RESOLV; , that the proposed amendment
be published in said newspaper for two' successive weeks, after
which time a public hearing will be held for all interested
citizens to espress their views.
There being no further business to comebbefore the meeting,
the meeting upon motion duly made and seconded, adjourned.

SPECIAL MEETIN' j JULY 16, 1958
At a special meeting of the Council of the Town of Leesburg,
in Virginia, held in Council Chambers July 16, 1958, at 11:30 A.M.
there were present: George J. Durfey, Mayor; Howard B. Gill ,
Reed Johnston, Mae Bass Mitchell, and J. Austin Wright .
In the absence of the Recorder, Mrs . Mitchell was elected
Recorder Pro Tem.
Upon motion of Mr. Gill, seconded by 'Mr . Wright, and unanimously
carried, it was :
BE IT RESOLVED, .by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in
Virginia, that the weekly salary of Roland 0. Keyes be increased
from 848.00 weekly to 653.00 weekly, the same to become effective
with the week of July 14, 1958.
Upon motion of Mr. Wright, seconded by Mr. Johnson and
• unanimously carried, it was :
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in
Virginia, that George E. Ward, Auditor-Treasurer; Sybil W: Wanner,
Zoning Administrator; Raymond L. Hough, Pumping Station Operator;
and Ronald L. Athey and Samuel B. Barton of the Police Department,
be given two weeks vacation or pay at the regular rate in lieu
thereof.

Upon motion of Mr. wright, seconded by Mr. Johnson, and
unanimously carried, it was :
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of Leesburg, in Virginia,
that the monthly salary of Shirley V. Everhart be increased from
$150.00 monthly to $175.00 monthly, the same to be retroactive
to July 1, 1958
The Mayor then read a letter from Mrs . H. H. Trundle with
regard to annexation.
Mr. Johnson then brought up the question of water running
down the Town' s walkways, and it was suggested that the Town
look into this problem to the end that some action be taken as
soon as possible .
Upon motion of Mr. Wright, seconded by Mr. Johnson, the
following resolution was unanimously adopted:
C) BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in
MVirginia, that the weekly salary of Edwin Arnett be increased
from $37.40 a week to $40.00 per week, the same to become
ct effective with the week of July- 14, 1958.

Upon motion of Mr . Johnson, seconded by Mr . Wright, and
unanimously carried, it was :
RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg that
the Town Attorney be given complete authority to conduct the
case of Feldman against the Town of Leesburg; to enter into
any stipulation or compromise which in his opinion are necessary
regarding Mr. Feldman ' s property on Route No. 7 East of the Town
of Leesburg.
There being no further business to come before the meeting,
the meeting upon motion duly made and seconded, adjourned.

MEETING, August 4, 1958
At a special meeting of the Council of the Town of Leesburg,
held August 4, 1958 at 8:00 P. M. in Council Chambers, there were
present : George J. Durfey, Mayor ; Elinor M. Cunningham, Recorder;
Howard B. Gill, Reed Johnson, Mae Bass Mitchell, and J. Austin
Wright, Councilmen.
The Mayor stated that the purpose of this .meeting was to
consider a proposed amendment to the Leesburg Subdivision Ordinance,
at which time all interested parties would be heard as to their
viewspertaining to said amendment, which said proposed amendment
had been published in the LOUDOUN TIMES MIRROR for two successive
weeks . There being no objection to said amendment the following
resolution was moved by Mr . Gill, seconded by Mr . Wright and un-
animously carried:
WHEREAS, the Council for the Town of Leesburg caused notice
of an intention to amend the Subdivision Ordinance to be published
once a week for two successive weeks in the LOUDOUN TIMES MIRROR , •
specifying August 4, 1958 at 8:00 P. M. at the Town Office Building
as the time and place at which persons affected could appear before
the Council to present their views, and;
