Johnson would go further into the matter of the site for a sanitary land fill ; that is to say, the location on a plat and at what price such site could be acquired. The Mayor reported that the Loudoun County School Board as well as the Town of Leesburg was very pleased that the water and sewer facilities were available for the new Douglass I/ Elementary School. • The Mayor announced that the Zoning Board for the Town of Leesburg would hold a public hearing on Wednesday, Sep ..ember 10, 1958 at 7 :30 P. M. at the County Office building for all persons interested. The Mayor advised that the Town Attorney was absent due to being called away fron town on some other matters . v It was generally agreed that the Town of Leesburg would 0: cooperate with the County of Loudoun with respect to the drafting of various codes . a d ,., Councilman Johnson, suggestedthat the fire hydrants in the Town be checked and also that the streets should be washed. • The Mayor advised the Auditor Treasurer to make available • the former trash cans used by the Towh, by having same repaired and painted. Councilman Hollandsworth brought up the subject of the overhanging hedge at the residence of Mrs . Joepeh Carr and Mr. Wright suggested that the matter be taken up with Mr . James McIntosh. At the suggestion of Mr . Wright it was deciddd that the subject of no parking at any time on i1ayette Street should be discussed with Mr. Bozelle of the Virginia State Department of Highways . • Councilman Gill presented the problem of the need for street lights in the subdivisioj known as Monroe Mahor and the, Mayor advised that this was a problem for the Street Committee to • investigate further . ' There being no further business to come before the meeting, the meeting upon-motion duly made and seconded, adjourned. 1 dec.rder St'le SPEQIAL MEETING, Septemoer 25, 1958 II At a special "meeting of the Council of the Town Leesburg, in Virginia, there were present George J. Durfey, Mayor ; Elinor M. Cunningham, Recorder; C. R. Hollandsworth, Howard B. Gill ; .Mae Bass Mitchell ; Oden Semones and J. Austin Wright, Councilmen. The Mayor stated that the purpose of this special meeting was to determine the responsibility of the Town and the County as far as the Subdivision Ordinance is concerned as respects the jurisdiction of both the Town and County within the two mile limit of the corporate limits of the Town of Leesburg. 1. 2 Upon motion of Mr. Gill, seconded by Mrs . Mitchell, and carried, Gill, Hollandsworth, Mitchell and Semones voting for and Wright against, the following resolution was adopted: BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg that the Mayor of the Town of Leesburg be and he hereby is directed and authorized to arrange a joint meeting with the Board of Supervisors for the Dounty of Loudoun and the Loudoun County Planning Commission with the Council of the Town of Leesburg • and the Planning Commission for the Town. of Leesburg to deter- mine the question of joint jurisdiction under the Subdivision I/Ordinance outside of the Town of Leesburg. Mitchell, seconded by Mr. Wright and unanimously carried the minutes of the regular meeting held September 8, 1958 were approved as read. Upon motion of Mr. Gill`, seconded by Mrs . Mitchell and unanimously carried the minutes of the special meeting held Sept- ember 25, 1958 were approved as read. Upon motion of Mr. Gill, secbnded by Mr. Wright, and un- animously carried, it was : m • WHEREAS, the Auditor-Treasurer has presented a report of all receipts and ansanalysis of all disbursements for the quarter ending September 30;: 1958; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town • of Leesburg, in Virginia, that the AUditer;-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to have a co)y of said reports published in a neswpaper in said Town and also to post a cry in front of the Court House in said Town. Upon motion of Mrs . MiTchell , seconded by Mr. Hollandsworth ,' and carried by a vote of four to one, Gill,' Hollandsworth , Mitchell, Wright voting for and Semones against, the following resolution was carried: • BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia, that the Auditor-Treqsurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed to pay the following bills :
