• Mt . Wright advised that Dr . H. M. Jackson had requested a

• street light be erected on the electric pole nearest to his
office on Wirt Street . The Auditor-Treasurer was ordered to
have this work done .
No action was taken on the request of Dr . Earl E. Virts
for a parking space near his office .
It was brought out that the Town has requested the State
Highway Department to place a luminuous sign on King and Loudoun
Streets . •
Upon motion of Mr . Wright , seconded by Mr . Gill and unan-
imously carried , it was : .
RESOLVED, That no parking signs be placed on the West side
of Wirt Street between Loudoun Street and Royal Streets.
It was decided that the Town should apply to the State for
the one-half mile of road for 1959 . The exact location of this
road would be determined at a later date .
Upon motion of Mr . Wright , moved by Fishback and unanimously
carried, it was :
RESOLVED , That the Town Attorney be and he is hereby autho-
rized and instructed to investigate the matter of the purchase
of the house on what is commonly known as Town Branch .
The Mayor advised. thati'Mny Tiffany desired to know if' he
would have to pay the cost of the sewer line across the easement
• he is giving the Town : 'also, if the Town would. be willing to
enter into a new deed stating that the Town would not hold .him
responsible for installing said line . The Town Attorney was
asked to make recommendations and report at the next Council
•
meeting.
There being no further business to come before the meet-
ing, the meeting upon motion duly rade and seconded, adjourned.

SPECIAL MEETING , January 6, 1959
At a special meeting of the Council of the Town of Leesburg,
in Virginia, held at 7 : 30 in Council Chambers on January 6, 1959 .
there were present : George J. Durfey, Mayor ; Elinor M. Cunningham,
Recorder ; C. Weloy Fishback; Howard B. Gill : Rees Johnson, Mae
Bass Mitchell, Oden Semones and J. Austin Wright-, being all of
the Councilmen.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the. proposed
Zoning Ordinance . The complete ordinance was considered page by
page oy the Council along with Mrs . Wanner , Zoning- Ad^inistrator,
and the Town Attorney , George M. Martin, Esquire .
Upon motion of Mr. ?'right, seconded by Mr . Gill, and unan-
imously carried, it was :
RESOLVED, That sidewalks be waived on the subdivision of

William W. Nickels on Evergreen Road.
There being no further business to come before the meeting ,
the meeting upon motion duly made, adjourned.
