HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution #2016-07, A Resolution Authorizing The City Clerk To Creat Budget Line Item "Consulting Fees" In The General Fund Budget And Move Funds Within The General Fund To This Account For Fiscal Year 2017 Ending June 30, 2018 RESOLUTION NO. 2016-7 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO CREATE BUDGET LINE ITEM "CONSULTING FEES" IN THE GENERAL FUND BUDGET AND MOVE FUNDS WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND TO THIS ACCOUNT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2017 ENDING JUNE 30,2018 WHEREAS,the City of Riverdale would like to hire a private consultant on an as needed basis who has experience in City Administration; and WHEREAS,the City has already approved the City budgets for Fiscal Years(FY)2017; and WHEREAS,the City of Riverdale has previously used the City Attorney and City Engineer to consult on City administration; and WHEREAS,the change would be a cost savings to the City; and WHEREAS,the City Attorney will still be used to review legal and final documents; and WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Riverdale, Iowa,wishes to move some budgeted funds from the General Fund"Attorney Fees"to the newly created line item General Fund"Consulting Fees"in the amount of $10,000 for FY 2017 in order to pay the Administrative Consultant; and WHEREAS, since the move does not change the amount in the General Fund it would not need a public hearing nor need to be published;but with the Council wishing to be transparent will be published in the City Newsletter and posted in the City's designated 3 places; and NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,by the City Council of the City Riverdale,Iowa,that the City Clerk/Treasurer is hereby directed to move $10,000 from the General Fund budget category "Attorney Fees"To a newly created category in the General Fund called"Consultant Fees"for Fiscal Year 2017 budget. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that the Mayor and City Clerk/Treasurer are hereby authorized and directed to execute said resolution: Passed and approved this 3 day of May 2016.
