BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg,
that the matter of the diZerega-Harrison-Town of Leesburg
water contract be referred to the incoming Council taking
office September 1, 1959, for their consideration and deter-
mination.

. Upon motion of Mr. Wright, seconded by Mr. Johnson, and
unanimously carried, the following resolution was adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council for the Town of
Leesburg, that George M. Martin, Esquire be aryl he hereby
is authorized and directed to represent the Town of Leesburg
in the forthcoming bond issue for the sum of One Thousand
Dollars ($1,000.00) , said sum to cover the necessary legal
services for perfecting s&id bond issue, including any con-
demnation suits that may arise for the installation of water
and sewer lines, and the drafting of all sewer and water ease-
ments ; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the firm of Reed, Hoyt,
Washburn and McCarthy, 52 Wall Street, NewiYork, New York, •
be paid the sum of Four Hundred Dollars (Y400.00 ) for their
services in connection with said bond issue, the said sum
to be paid by the Town of Leesburg.
There being no further business to come before the meet-
ing, upon motion duly made and seconded the meeting adjourned.

Ata special meeting of the Council for the Town of Lees-
burg, held in Council Chambers September 1, 1959 at 12:18 P.M.
there were present: George J. Babson, Mayor; Elinor M. •
Cunningham, Recorder; C. Meloy Fishback; George E. Isaacs ;
Hunter Leach; J. W. Pumphrey; and J. Austin Wright, 'Emerson
James being absent.
The Mayor called the meeting to order and announced that
this was a special meeting of the Town Council of the Town •
of Leesburg.
Upon motion of Mr. Fishback, seconded by Mr. Pumphrey,
and unanimously carried, the following reeolution was unan-
imously adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council for the Town of Lees bus,
in Virginia, that the following be and are hereby appointed
and/or elected to the following positions and under the
following terms and conditions : • •

AUDITOR-TREASURER: George E. Ward
Term of office : ''eptember 1, 1959 through August 31,
1961.
Salary: FOUR THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED SIXTY TWO DOLLARS
AND FIFTY CENTS (34,462.50) annually.
Oath and Bond: The said Auditor-Treasurer shall ,
before entering upon his duties, take the oath
prescribed by law and give bond in the amount

of TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($20,000.00) , with
approved surety, payable to the Town of Leesburg,
in Virginia, a municipal corporation, and con-
ditioned upon the faithful _performance of the
duties of his office.
ISSUING JUSTICE: Lee Keys
Term of office : September 1, 1959 through August 31, 1961.
Compensation: The said Issuing Justice shall retain the
fees for performing the services of an issuing
justJ4e in the same amount as is permitted under
the State law, but shall render an accounting
thereof to the Auditor-Treasurer semi-annually.
Oath and Bond: The Issuing Justi.8e shall , before entering
upon his duties, take the oath prescribed by law
and gi a bond in the amount of FIVE THOUSAND DOL-
LARS (,000.00) with approve corporate surety;
payable to the Town of Leesburg, in Virginia,
and conditioned upon the faithful performance of
the duties of Issuing Justice .

Sslary: THIRTY FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($3500 .00) mumally.
TOWN ATTORNEY: George M. Martin
Compensation: A retainer of ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100 .00)
per year, payable in equal semi-annual installments
and subject to future revision; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg,
in Virginia, that Ronald L. Athey, Max Dwyer and Elmer Sauer , be
arid they are hereby appointed as Policemen for the Town of Leesb-
' burg, ,in Virginia, for a two (2) year period beginning September
1, 1963 and ending August 31, 1961, at an annual salary of THREE
THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY DOLLARS ($3, 180.00)4 and,
BE IT FURTHER RtSOLVED, that Raymond L. Hough be :aridbhei.is
hereby elected and appointed Superintendent of Water Works for
the Town of Leesburg for a period of two (2) years beginning
September 1, 1959 and ending August 31, 1961, at an annual salary
of FOUR THOUSAND NINETY FIVE DOLLARS ($.1,095.00) ; and that Glenn
Weatherholtz be and he is hereby electetand appointed Superintendent
of Streets for the Town of Leesburg, for a period of two (2) years
beginning September 1, 1959 and ending August 31, 1961, at an
annual salary of FOUR THOUSAND NINETY FIVE DOLLARS ($4,095.00 ) ; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Council of the Torn of Leesburg,
in Virginia, that deductions from the above salaries, as provided
by law, shall be made for pension funds, social security, with-
holding (income tax) , and such other deductions as are authorized
by law,
Upon motion of Mr . Leach, seconded by Mr. Wright, and unan-
imously carried, the following resolution was unanimously adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, in
Virginia, that Section I, Chapter I, Administration Ordinance,
Town Council Meetings, be and the same is hereby rescinded and
repealed; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Council of the Tann of Leesburg,
in Virginia, that the aforementioned Section I be amended to read
as follows:

The regular meetings of the Council shall be held
at 7:00 •P. M. on the second Monday of each and
every month until changed by action of the Council.
The Mayor then stated that he hereby appointed each and
every eouncflman as members 'of the various committees of the
Council, with the request that the said members remain after
adjournment of the meeting in order to elect their avn chair-
' men and to do such other things deemed meet, proper and re-
quisite, said members being as follows :
