BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said amendments to the
• Subdivision Ordinance be effective at 12 :01 A. M. December 1 ,
1959 .
Upon motion of Mr. Fishback, seconded by Mr . Wright , and
unanimously adopted, it was :

RESOLVED, that the Recorder for the Town of Leesburg, in I/Virginia, publish notice of a Public Hearing on the proposed
amendments to the Leesburg Zoning Ordinance for December 14,
1959, at 8 :00 P . M. in the Council Chambers , Leesburg, Vir-
ginia.
Upon motion of Mr . Leach, seconded by Mr. James , and un-
animously adopted, it was :
' RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg, that
the Planning Commission be requested to consider the rezoning
of certain lands of Paramore, et als , and report their find-
ings to the Council .
Upon motion of Mr. James , seconded by Mr . aright , and
unanimously adopted, the meeting was adrned.

REGULAR MEETING, DECEMBER 14, 1959
A regular' meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Lees-
burg, in Virginia, was called to order by George J. Babson,
Mayor, at 7 :05 P. M. December 14, 1959.
There were present C. Maloy Fishback, Emerson H. James,
Hunter M. Leach, John W. Pumphrey and J. Austin Wright ,
Councilmen.
The minutes of the regular meeting of November 9c- 1959,
were approved as read.
The minutes of a special meeting held November 30, 1959,
were approved as read.
The Auditor-Treasurer presented his financial statement
and special sewer debt fund statement for the montof .December;
also the bills for the preceding month.
Upon motion of Mr. Fishback, seconded by Mr. Leach, the
following .resolution was unanimously adopted:
• BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council for the Town of Leesburg,
in Virginia, that the Auditor-Treasurer be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to pay the following bills :

Upon motion of Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Wright, the follow-
ing resolution. was, unanimously_ adopted: •
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council for the Town of Leesburg,
in Virginia, that the Auditor-Treasurer be and; he hereby is
authorized and directed to' disburse the- customary Christmas
honorarium to each member of -the Leesburg Volunteer Fire De-
partment, 'which said sum is in the amount of Twenty Dollars
($20.00) . - •
Upon motion of Mr. Wright, seconded by Mr. James, the
following resolution was unanimously adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Cbuncil for the Town of Leesburg,
in Virginia, that free parking be and it is -hereby permitted
on the parking lots and streets of the Town of Leesburg, said
free parking to commence December 15, 1959 and terminate at
12 :01. A. M. , December 27 , 1959. • •
Council then recessed at 7 :30 P. M. to provide time for a
meeting- of the Administrative Committee.
Council reconvened at 8:00 P. M. in order to hold the
public -hearing, of which notice had ,been duly given by adver-
tisementdn a newspaper_ published in the Town of Leesburg, which
said hearing was forthe purpose of giving •all • interested
citizens an opportunity to express their views with respect
to the proposed amendments to the -Zoning Ordinance for the
Town of Leesburg.
There being no persons present to be heard, the Adminis-
trative Committee reconvened at 8: 10 P. M.
The Committee rose to report to Council which reconvened
at 10:45.

- Upon motion of Mr. Leach, seconded by Mr. Wright, the
following resolution was unanimously adopted: .
• BE -IT RESOLVED, by the Council for the Town of Leesburg,
in• Virginia, that the Zoning Ordinance adopted March 9, 1959,
be- and the same is amended in the following respects :
• Page 3, Article 2-2-3 is amended to read as follows :
"Each new dwelling structure, other than a farm
• dwelling, shall be on a separate lot fronting
- upon a public street , or existing easement, etc. . . "
• Page 19, Section L22-6-1 is amended to read as follows :
• "On a narrow lot -of official record at the time of
• enactment of this Ordinance, or hereinafter legally
divided, the side yards may be reduced, etc
•
▪ Page 20, Section-8-2-7 is amended to read as follows :
• "On a lot less than one hundred (100) feet deep, of .
official record at the time of enactment of this Ordi-
• nance, or hereinafter legally divided, the rear yard
• may be reduced, etc. . . . . .- .
• • Page 30, Section 1<l-3is amended to read as follows :
"A building or portion thereof occupied or intended
to be occupied exclusively for residence purposes. "

'This resolution shall be effective upon adoption.
Upon motion of Mr. Leach, seconded by Mr. James, the
following resolution was unanimously adopted: I/RESOLVED, by the Council for the Town of Leesburg, in
Virginia, that the bill rendered by Cardinal Foods, Incor-
porated in the amount of One Hundred Sixty Dollars and Fifty
Cents ($160.50) for the installation of one-hundred, seven
(107) ;square yards f sidewalk at the corporation 's. place
of business on Suath Royal Street inthe Town of Leesburg, •
be and- the same is hereby approved; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Auditor-Treasurer is'
hereby authorized and directed to issue the Town' s. check in
the aforementioned amount to Cardinal Foods, incorporated
for the installation of said sidewalk.
Upon motion of Mr. Leach, seconded by Mr. James, the
following resolution was unanimously adopted:
BE IT RESOLVED,. by the Council of the Town of Leesburg,
in Virginia, that the request made by Loudoun Propetties,
Incorporated, for a variance ofsidewalks in the Industrial
Zone in the Subdivision 'known as "Virginia Village" in the
Town of Leesburg, and for the vacation of Fairfax Street
in said subdivision, all of which is set forth in its letter
dated December 4, 1959, addressed to the Honorable George J.
Babson, Mayor of the Town of Leesburg, be and the same is.
hereby referred to the Planning Commission for a report and
recommendation to the Council with respect to7the afore-
said request . / - •
