Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Leesburg Town Council, June 25, 1962
A regular. meeting of the Leesburg Town Council was held in the
Council Chambers , Leesburg, Virginia on June 25, 1962.
Mayor Frank Raflo called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
Councilmen, present were George J. B'abson; Stanley F. Caulkins , George
P. Hammerly, Hunter M. Leach,, Maurice R. Lowenbach and John W. Pumphrey.
Upon Motion of Councilman Babson; seconded by Councilman Lowenbach
and with the general agreement of the Councilmen the minutes of the
June 11, 1962 meeting were approved as read.
The Mayor gave his report to: the Council. '
The repbrt of the Town Manager was given.
Upon Motion of Councilman Lowenbach; seconded by Councilman Leach
the following resolution was passed . Voting Yeas ,, Councilmen Babson,
Hammerly, Leach, Lowenbach and Pumphrey.
BE, IT RESOLVED, by the Council for the Town of Leesburg, in
Virginia,' that the firm of Stanton, Minter and Burner be retained to
make a post audit and examination of the financial records of the Town-
for the -fiscal year ending June 30 , 1962, and which shall be- similiar
in s cope ,to the previous fiscal years examination. '
Upon Motion of Councilman Lowenbach; seconded by Councilman Leach
the following resolution was passed by a, roll call vote. Yeas , Councilmen
Hammerly, each, Lowenbach and Pumphrey; Abstained, Councilman Babson.
BE. IT RESOLVED, . by the Council for the Town of Leesburg, in
Virginia that the bid of Jesse C . Randolph, dated June 14, 196 , for
the lump sum of $15,300.00, payable in 12 equal monthly payments, for
the removal of refuse for fiscal year 1962-63 be accepted , and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED , that the Town Manager is hereby authorized
to enter into the following Memorandum of Agreement , which is spread in
haec verba hereafter.

Upon Motion of Councilman Lowenbach; seconded by Councilman
Hammerly the following resolution was passed . Voting Yeas , Councilmen
Caulkins, Hammerly, Leach, Lowenbach and Pumphrey; Asbstained Councilman
Babson.
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council for the Town of Leesburg, in
Virginia, that the Virginia Department of Highways is hereby requested
to accept in their secondary road system the following streets:
1. :South Catoctin Circle , from 0.2071miles southwest of the
south right-of-way line of the Washington and Old Dominion
Railroad to the intersection of State Route #15, a distance
of 1930 feet or approximately 0.366 miles , all as is des-
cribed in Deed Book 358 , page 498 and Plat Book #7; Folio
106-107, of the records in the Clerks Office of Loudoun
,County, Virginia.

2. Belmont Drive, from 0.05 miles southwest of State Route
T-1010 to its dead end , a distance of 765- feet or approxi-
mately 0.145 miles, all as is described in Deed Book .390
page 196 with attached plat, of the records in the Clerk's
Office of Loudoun County , Virginia.
3. Lafayette Place, from its intersection with State Route
T-1010 to its dead end , a distance of 300 feet or approxi-
mately 0.057 miles , all as is described in Deed Book 402
page 642 with attached plat , of the records in the Clerk's
Office of Loudoun County, Virginia.
4. Parker Court , from its intersection with State Route #7-1009
to its dead end , a distance of 590 feet or approximately
0.112 miles , all as is described in Deed Book 13H, page 111
and Plat Book #2 , page 141, of the records in the Clerk' s
Office of Loudoun County, Virginia.
Upon Motion of Councilman Babson; seconded by Councilman Pumphrey
and there being no further business to come before the Council at this
time the meeting was adjourned at 7:25 P .M. with the general consent
of the Councilmembers.
