There is no float! Pedestrian Crossings Vehicles must stop for pedestrians crossing at any marked intersection, with or without lights. It is illegal to pass a car stopped at a crosswalk –assume a pedestrian is crossing. Pedestrians, PLEASE, use marked crosswalks and always operate lights. You are helping to train drivers! After pedestrians clear intersection, vehicles may proceed without waiting for flashers. SCHOOL IS ON! WATCH OUT FOR CHILDREN! Cyclists, use 2nd Ave/Van Horn bike routes. Cyclists have all responsibilities of vehicles, but also all rights of motor vehicles. Drivers must provide 3’ clearance when passing a bicycle! Last day to register for the November 5th election! Register to vote at https://registertovote.sos.ga.gov/GAOLVR/ Georgia citizens have access to several convenient methods of registering to vote: Download, complete, & mail a voter registration application from http://sos.ga.gov/admin/files/GA_VR_APP_2019.pdf You can go to your local county board of registrars' office or election office, public library, public assistance office, recruitment office, schools, and other government offices for a mail-in registration form. The City Clerk in City Hall can register you to vote as well. Registration is offered when you renew or apply for your driver's license at Department of Driver Services. Trunk-or-Treat The Y will host Trunk-or-Treat in Memorial Park, next to the fire station, 6-8PM. Please call 786-YMCA or stop by to register your vehicle to coordinate locations. Most of Lewis Ave wishes to keep their tradition alive, although they like to run a bit later – 6:30-8:30 – to give time to prepare after work. Both events would appreciate any and all candy donations! Drop off at the TIPD, TIFD, or City Hall for Halloween. Or bring with you! City Manager’s Morning In and Mayor’s Night In The City Manager is at Tybee Oaks’ Tybean Fridays, 9-10am, for coffee. Watch the city calendar online for schedule updates. Mayor Buelterman’s monthly Night In for issues more appropriate to Council is second Tuesday each month. Call Jan LeViner, 472.5080, for an appointment. To get on the agenda, file an Agenda Request with the City Clerk by noon, Wednesday, eight days prior to the Meeting! Council meets 2nd & 4th Thursday, 7PM, each month.
