MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF LEESBURG TOWN COUNCIL, AUGUST 14, 1964.
A call meeting of the Leesburg Town Council was held in the Council Cham-
bers, Leesburg, Virginia on August 14, 1964 at 8 :30 P.M. Those present were the
Mayor, Kenneth B. Roll'ns, and Counc}'lmen C. A. English Cole, C. Grey Dodd, C.
Maloy Fishbackl��'Eopert#A.Le gn}� andoHn W. Pumphrey. Also present were Town Mana-
ger James W. Ritter, Jr. , who was appointed Clerk Pro-Tem in the absence of the
Clerk, and Town Attorney George M. Martin.
The meeting was called for the purpose of reviewing proposals made by seve-
ral aircraft organizations for leasing or renting portions of the new Leesburg
Municipal Airport. There were present several members of the organizations of
United States Aviation Company, the Chantilly Aviation Company, Capitol Area
Soaring School and Bryan Gordon, Jr.
After much discussion, on motion of Mr. Lowenbach , seconded by Mr. Pum-
phrey, and on a unanimous vote, the following action was taken: That the
Leesburg Airport Commission make a study of proposals and to formalize leases
from United States Aviation Company, Chantilly Aviation Company and Capitol 'Area
Soaring School and to bring back these proposals to the Town Council for approval.
On motion, duly seconded, the meeting adjourned at 9:50 P.M.
