ORDINANCE 1994 -8
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE REQUEST OF
OPPORTUNITY HOUSING, INC. TO VACATE
PLATTED LOTS, STREETS, ALLEYS WITHIN SILVER SURVEY
(YORKSHIRE SUBDIVISION)
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the City of Greencastle, Indiana, did at its regular
meeting held on May 23, 1994, unanimously approve the request of Opportunity Housing, Inc.
for the vacation of certain lots, alleys and street (Center Street) within 6 -lot Yorkshire
Subdivision, Silvers Survey, Greencastle Township , Section 22 (northeast corner of Union /East
Street and South Street/Chadd Road); and
WHEREAS all notices have been published and sent pursuant to statute; and
WHEREAS it appears to the Common Council for the City of Greencastle that it is in
the best interest of the citizens of Greencastle that said request for vacation be granted.
NOW THEREFORE be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle
that the following lots, alleys and street located in Greencastle, Putnam County, Indiana, and
more particularly described as follows:
All Lots, Streets and Alleys of the Silvers Survey as shown in Plat Book 2, page
52 in the office of the Recorder in Putnam County, Indiana, that lie within Yorkshire
Subdivision as shown in Plat Book 9, Book 105 in the aforesaid Recorder's office and more
accurately defined to -wit:
Lot 7 and 8 Block 3 and that portion of Lot 6 Block 3 that
lies within said Yorkshire Subdivision.
Also, Lot 1, 2, 7 and 8 Block 4 and that portion of Lot 3 and
6 Block 4 that lies within said Yorkshire Subdivision.
Also, The North and South alley in Block 4 and that portion
of the East and West alley in Block 4 that lies within
Yorkshire Subdivision.
Also, The North and South alley lying between Lot 6 and 7
Block 3.
Also, That portion of Center Street lying within the
Yorkshire Subdivision.
are hereby vacated as lots and public rights -of -way in the City of Greencastle, Indiana.
This Ordinance shall have full force and effect upon passage of the Greencastle Common
Council and its approval by the Mayor.
