AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
LEGAL SERVICES WITH JAMES CLAP, KIN, III, - MAFFIA V
CARTERET ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of specialized legal services in
connection with the defense of Maffia V Borough of Carteret, Zoning Board
of Adjustment.
WHEREAS, James Clarkin, III, possesses the requisite skill and expertise to
!provide said services; and
WHEREAS, James Clarkin, III, has advised the Borough the projected cost of
the defense of this matter should not exceed $5,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be
available for said purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey as follows:
1. That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized
to enter in to a Professional Service Contract with James
Clarkin, III, to provide a defense in the above referenced
litigation at a total cost not to exceed $5,000.00
2. That this action is approved as an award of a professional
services contract pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-5 (1)(a).
Adopted this 4th day of September,
2003 and certified as a tree copy of
the original on September 5, 2003.
