ORDINANCE NO. 1994- 14-
ORDINANCE APPROVING THE EROSION AND SEDIMENT
CONTROL FOR DEVELOPMENTS AND IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, the Common Council for the City of Greencastle, Indiana, did at its
regularly scheduled meeting held on , receive a recommendation from
the Plan Commission for the approval of Erosion and Sediment control for all development
within the jurisdiction of the Plan Commission in the City of Greencastle, Putnam County,
Indiana; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council for the City of Greencastle, Indiana, has pursuant to
law, published notice of the fact that this matter would come on for public hearing at the
regularly scheduled meeting of the common Council for the City of Greencastle, Indiana, to be
held on , at 7:30 p.m. at the TZOUanakiS Intermediate School in
Greencastle, Indiana; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council for the City of Greencastle, Indiana, has after said
public hearing, determined that the Ordinance as drafted should be granted and,
WHEREAS, this Ordinance has been submitted to the Greencastle Plan Commission and
such Plan Commission has voted unanimously in favor of this Ordinanace; and,
WHEREAS, there have been no objections raised at the public hearing on this Ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council for the City of
Greencastle, Indiana, that the Ordinance dealing with Erosion and Sediment Control for
improvements to any lot within the jurisdiction of the Plan Commisssion and its Subdivision
ordinance in Greencastle, Putnam County, Indiana, and more particularly described as follows:
The Developer or his agent shall prepare an Erosion Control Plan for ALL
residential, commercial and industrial sudivisions, no matter what size the subject
land measures, which shall show all disturbed areas of the site as well as any
other affected areas, both during constuction and on a permanent basis. Said plan
shall include, but not limited to, temporary seeding of the site.
The plan shall be submitted to the City Engineer or his designee and the local Water
Conservation District Designee, prior to the project coming to the Plan Commission, for
their approval and signature. The Urban Development Planning Guide for Erosion
Contol, Sediment Control, Flood Prevention and Drainage Handbook and the Indiana
Handbook for Erosion Control in Developed Areas shall be used by the Petitioner
• as a guide for procedures /plans. However, the City Engineer's or his designee's
and the local Water Conservation District Designee's recommendations shall be strongly
relied upon by the Commission in its decision.

This Ordinance shall have full force and effect of law immediately upon its passage by
the Common Counsel for the City of Greencastle, Indiana, and signature of the Mayor.
