AUG. 2, 1989
The regular meeting of the Town Board was called to order at 7:40
p.m. Board present were Klancke, Jensen, Buchheister, Schauner,
Muhlbauer and Finlay. Also present were Hartlaub, Brown and
Winter.
Bills presented for payment. Muhlbauer made a motion to pay
these bills, 2nd Schauner, carried.
Minutes of the previous meeting were tabled.
MaryAnn Roberts, Helen Smith and Betty Roberts were presented
with a bouquet of flowers and appreciation of the town board as
well as the community for the volunteer work they have done all
summer planting flower beds and caring for these planters for the
community. Also the board will treat these ladies and their
spouse to dinner with an invitation going to Mrs. Scarborough to
join them.
Hartlaub reviewed the contract with M.P. Water Conservancy
District with regards to the additional water for Maryvale, as
well as more for the town. The town has 25 acre feet and
requests and additional 15 feet and MaryVale wants 65 acre feet.
Resolution 1989 -8 -1 contracting for additional water was
approved. M /S /P/ Klancke, Schauner.
ORDINANCE 178. Klancke moved to adopt Ordinance 178 as an
emergency measure, ordinance allows the traffic signal for stop
and go and amends the Model Traffic Code to address the signal,
2nd Schauner, all voting yes.
Klancke would like to pursue the right to tax lien water arrears
with the County.
Board presented Larry Hartlaub with an appreciation plaque for
the past years of service as Hartlaub is moving to Arizona. He
will be finishing up projects and will be working for the town in
that capacity. The new attorney that will be in Hartlaub's
office will be brought in as the town attorney as soon as his is
Colorado certified on the same basis as Hartlaub worked for the
Town.
C.B. discussed a possible new road to bypass Twin Rivers, which
is the platted road of Victoria Village, then over to twin rivers
for a short distance to County Rd. 8. This will be looked into.
Hartlaub will complete the UBC adoption documents shortly.
Board reviewed the Business survey and the Residential survey,
made some changes and these will go to the public asap.
