AMENDING RESOLUTION #03-163 & RESOLUTION #03-180
AUTHORIZING CHANGE ORDER REICON GROUP, LLC-
ARTHUR KILL WATERFRONT RECREATION FACILITY
WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the Borough of Carteret has previously approved
Resolution #03-163 and Resolution #03-180 authorizing a Change Order for the Arthur
Kill Waterfront Recreation Facility, Phase I project; and
WHEREAS, said Change Orders were required to expand the scope of work under the
original contract for the project to include the redesign and reconstruction of certain
structural components of the public pier portion of the Waterfront Park; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Change Orders initially authorized to complete the above
described work would result in a net increase in the contract mount not to exceed
$50,000.00 and $200.00.00, respectively; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Engineer, Donald J. Norbut of T&M Associates, had
previously advised the Governing Body that it was anticipated that the scope of
additional work could be completed for said additional amount(s); and
WHEREAS, based upon further analysis and review of the required
changes/modifications to the structural components of the public pier by the contractor
for the project, it has been determined that the actual cost for said work should not exceed
$350,000.00, but could also be substantially less in amount based upon actual field
conditions; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Borough Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey as follows:
1. That Resolution #03-163 and Resolution #03-180, authorizing a Change Order for the
Arthur Kill Waterfront Recreation Facility, Phase I project, be hereby amended to
authorize an increase in the total contract amount not to exceed $350,000.00, should said
amount be necessary to complete the project.
2. That the appropriate Borough officials are hereby authorized and directed to execute
the final Change Order in a final form acceptable to the Borough Attorney and Borough
Engineer.
3. That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to T&M Associates and the Borough's
Purchasing Department.

certified as a true copy of the original on
July 25, 2003.
