AMENDING RESOLUTION #03-271
AWARDING BID FOR BUILDING DEMOLITION
WHEREAS, the Borough previously authorized the receipt of bids for the
demolition of unsafe structures throughout the Borough; and
WHEREAS, the Borough has received 7 bids for said work; and
WHEREAS, Gordon Construction was the lowest bidder for the demolition of
the following structures for which the Borough desires to award a contract:
1. 33-35 Roosevelt Avenue
2. 52-54 Roosevelt Avenue
3. 81-83 Roosevelt Avenue; and
4. 77 Roosevelt Avenue
WHEREAS, H. D'Orsi Construction was the lowest bidder for the demolition of
the following structure for which the Borough desires to award the following
structure:
1. 73 Warren Street
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret that the appropriate Borough officials are hereby authorized
to enter into contracts with Gordon Construction and H. D'Orsi Construction,
upon the direction of the Borough's Construction Code Official and pending of
the availability of funds, for the demolition of the respective structure(s) listed
above in accordance in all respects with the bids submitted for the same.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the costs of said demolition shall be set
forth as a municipal lien against said properties.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to
the Borough's Purchasing Department, Tax Collector, and Construction Code
Official for the required action provided for herein.
Adopted this 10th day of September,
2003 and certified as a true copy of
the original on September 11, 2003.
