WAIVER OF NOTICE
OF
SPECIAL MEETING
January 15 , 1972
We, the undersigned, being members of the Town Council
of the Town of Leesburg , in Virginia , do severally waive all
statutory and Charter requirements as to notice of time ,
place and purpose of a Special Meeting of the Town Council,
and consent that the meeting shall be held in the Council
Chambers of the Town Council at 3 :30 P.M. , Monday, January
15, 1973 , for the purpose of appointment of a Councilman to
fill the unexpired term of G. Dewey Hill, who has been elected
as Mayor and whose term expires on June 30, 1976 .

MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OFLEESBURG TOWN COUNCIL, JANUARY 15, - 1973 .
A Special Meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Leesburg, was
held in the Council Chambers, 10 West Loudoun Street, Leesburg, Vir-
ginia, on January 15, 1973 at 3 :30 P.M. , pursuant to Waiver of Notice
. attached hereto. The meeting was called to order by Mayor G. Dewey
Hill. Also present were Councilmen Robert A. Orr, C. Terry Titus and
John W. Pumphrey. Absent were Councilmen Walter F. Murray and John A.
Wallace, Jr.
Mayor Hill stated that the reason for the meeting was to appoint
a Council member to fill his unexpired term, which would expire on
June 30, 1976 .
On motion of Councilman Pumphrey, seconded by Councilman Titus ,
Mr. Herbert L. Ridder 's name was placed in nomination for this post.
Councilman Titus said he is willing to serve and he feels he can be
of help in technical areas , as well as other areas . The following
resolution was then unanimously adopted:
WHEREAS, a vacancy has occurred on the Council for the Town
of Leesburg due to the election of G. Dewey Hill as Mayor,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the
Town of Leesburg, that H. L. Ridder be appointed Councilman
to fill the unexpired term of G. Dewey Hill, whose term ex-
pires June 30, 1976 . .
On motion of Councilman Orr, seconded by Councilman Pumphrey , the
meeting adjourned at 3:37 P.M. i
