HomeMy Public PortalAboutTBM 1994-08-03TOWN BOARD AUGUST 3, 1994 The Town Board called the special meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. This special meeting was duly noticed as an Executive Session for the purpose of receiving advise from legal counsel on specific legal issues. Board present were Jensen, Johnston, Swatzell, Havens, Klancke and Muhlbauer. Also present were Brown and Rodney McGowan. Muhlbauer moved to go into executive session to receive advise from counsel on specific legal issues, 2nd Klancke, carried. Board came out of executive session at 8:25 p.m. The regular meeting of the Board was called to order at 8:30 p.m. Board present was Mayor Jensen, Johnston, Havens, Swatzell, Muhlbauer and Klancke. Also present were Brown and Winter. FRASER VALLEY AUTO ALLEY USE REQUEST Carl Prather asked the Board if he could use the alley for short term parking of cars that he works on. Prather is asking for use from some point west of the Quick Stop building, westerly to beyond the MT. Printer building, as Alex Graham indicated to Prather that he would also like to use the alley. This request is for summer time only as snow is stored in the alley in the winter from all of the uses in that block. Klancke moved to allow temp. parking use for the summer only and the Board will re- assess this request after we see how if works. This use will be allowed to AuTruffles, F.V. Auto and Mt. Printer businesses, 2nd Johnston, carried. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as written. RESOLUTION 8 -1 -94 COORDINATED ELECTION Klancke moved to approve Resolution No. 8 -1 -94 authorizing the intergovernmental agreement with Grand County for the coordinated election and adopting Title 1 Election Code for this election, 2nd Johnston, carried. Board set the polling place at 153 Fraser Ave. for the Nov. 8, 1994 Election. BALLOT QUESTION LANGUAGE Brown reviewed costs for the capital improvements project to get wells 8 and 9 on line with various other. $200,000 is the estimate for this project. Brown had payment schedules at various terms for review. Muhlbauer moved to have a $200,000 loan question on the ballot along with the approval to keep the excess revenue 2nd Havens, carried. OTHER BUSINESS No names for the Board of Adjustment appointment as yet. Brown reviewed the project list. Sept. meeting are changes as follows: Town Board Sept 14th and 28th Planning Commission 21st. Lynda Muhlbauer submitted her letter of resignation effective Aug. 12, 1994. Mayor Jensen presented Snippi with a copper etching of the Indian and Eagle by Jim Hoy and thanked her for the 8 years of service to the Town. Willows Condominium variance request. A set back variance must be approved before the property can subdivide and create a new lot line between the two existing buildings. Board reviewed the project. Swatzell moved to make the following comments to the Board of Adjustments. 1. Parking spaces delineated. 2. Dumpsters screened. 3. Landscaping needed, and Board questions the general looks of the property as well as to many cars allowed to be parked by the renters. If this gets to a plating situation the board will have these issues addressed by the owner. Motion 2nd by Johnston, carried. Reminder of Aug. 11th meeting for preliminary plat on Mercy Housing. Sue Buchheister brought to the attention of the Board that she heard Public Service may be doing work at the Wapiti Drive intersection we may want to look into this. Also she heard that a new survey recently done in the Ptg. area places the property completely off from where the property lines were thought to be. Buchheister as a Planning Commission member asked the Board if the Town attorney could be at the Aug. 11, PC meeting. Muhlbauer moved to have the attorney present, 2nd Klancke, carried. Johnston wants the Town to work on the Junk Ordinance. No further business, meeting adjourned at 11:00 p.m.
