HomeMy Public PortalAbout1975_02_17SPECr7 WAIVER OF NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING FEBRUARY 17 , 1975 We, the undersigned, being members of the Town Council of the Town of Leesburg , in Virginia, do seve- rally waive all statutory and Charter requirements as to notice of time, place and purpose of a Special Meet- ing of the Town Council , to be held in the Council Cham- bers , 10 West Loudoun Street, Leesburg , Virginia, at 8 :00 P.M. , Monday, February 17 , 11975, for the purpose of discussing personnel matters , land any other routine matter that may come before Council. Terry Ti s 173 MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF LEESBURG TOWN COUNCIL, FEBRUARY 17 , 1975. A special meeting of the Leesburg Town Council was held in the Council Chambers, 10 West Loudoun Street, Leesburg , Virginia, at 8 :00 P.M. , pursuant to Waiver of Notice attached hereto . Present were : Mayor G. Dewey Hill, Councilmen Charles E. Bange, Robert A. Orr, Herbert L. Ridder and C. Terry Titus ; also Deputy Town Manager E . Wesley Devero . Absent from the meeting was Councilman Mary Anne Newman. It is noted that Councilman James A. Rock joined the meet- ing at 9:00 P.M. On motion of Councilman Bange, seconded by Councilman Ridder, Council voted unanimously to go into executive session to discuss personnel matters . Councilman Orr left the meeting at 9:30 P.M. Council reconvened at 10 :40 P.M. On motion of Councilman Titus , seconded by Councilman Ridder, the following resolution was proposed and unanimously adopted, as shown : . WHEREAS , Roland Flint of VEPCO, Earl Bell of Leesburg Chrysler-Plymouth and Reed Johnson of Johnson 's House of Beef have requested the Town of Leesburg to request the Virginia Department of Highways to revise the construction plans on the east side of Catoctin Circle in connection with the Route 7 Urban Project to provide them as much re- lief as possible because of the difference in elevation of their buildings and the proposed street, and WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg has requested the Virginia Department of Highways to revise the said plans, and WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg has received a letter from R. H. Connock, Jr. , Resident Engineer of the Virginia Department of Highways , stating the conditions of the revisions they will allow, and WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg has reviewed said condi- tions and agrees with the said revisions , NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Manager is hereby directed to request R. H. Connock, Jr. of the Vir- ginia Department of Highways , to revise the said plans in accordance with his letter of February 13 , 1975 , and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that VEPCO, Leesburg Chrysler- Plymouth and Johnson 's House of Beef be notified that provisions shall be made to prevent any vehicles from. overhanging the proposed curb on the east side of Ca- toctin Circle. Aye : Councilmen Bange, Ridder, Rock, Titus and Mayor Hill. Nay : None . On motion of Councilman Rock, seconded by Councilman Ridder, the meeting was adjourned at 10 :42 P.M. Mayor C er o :he Council
