1995- 10 -10. Special Council Meeting
The Tybee Island City Council held a special called Council
meeting on Tuesday, October 10, 1995 at 4:30 P.M. to discuss
disciplinary action on a City Department Head. Mayor Locklear
called the meeting to order. The following members of Council
were present: Katrina Hughes, Jack Youmans, William Remeta.
Mariann Wildi, Phil O'Dell, and Paul Jackson.
Mayor Locklear turned the meeting over to City Attorney
Edward Hughes to explain evidence. Mr. Hughes said that he had
the accident report, State Court, and GIRMA information. GIRMA
paid Chapel by the Sea Baptist Church $3,700.00 and the City of
Tybee $1,881.00, so the City of Tybee is out of pocket the
deductible in the amount of $2,500.
Mr. William Pye apologized for the embarrassment he caused
the City, himself and his family. Mr. Pye said he has no
objection and is prepared to accept the Council decision.
Councilmember Wildi moved to go into executive session to
discuss any action. Councilmember Jackson seconded. Vote by
Council was 4 in favor (Hughes, Remeta, Wildi, Jackson); 2
opposed (O'Dell, Youmans).
Mayor Locklear called the meeting back to order at 5 P.M.
Councilmember Jackson moved for Mr. Pye to pay the deductible of
$2,500.00 to the City over a 2 year period of time. Councilmember
Wildi seconded. Vote by Council was 5 in favor (Hughes, Remeta,
Wildi, O'Dell, Jackson); 1 opposed (Youmans).
Mayor Locklear adjourned th meeting.
