MINUTES OF RECONVENED MEETING OF JANUARY 30, 1977 OF LEESBURG TOWN
COUNCIL, HELD ON JANUARY 31 , 1977.
The meeting of January 30, 1977 of the Leesburg Town. Council was
reconvened in the Council Chambers, 10 West Loudoun. Street, .,Leesburg,
Virginia at 7 : 30 P.M. on January 31„ 1977 .,at the call of the 'Mayor.
Present were: Mayor Mary Anne• Newman, Councilmembers Charles E.
Bange, Glen P. . Cole, James _A. Rock and John-W. Tolbert, Jr. ;, also
Town ;Manager• John Niccolls, Town Attorney George M. Martin and Di-
rector of Engineering Andrew G: Shope. Absent were Councilmembers
Stanley D. Herrell , Jr. and C. Terry Titus.
On motion of Mayor Newman, seconded by Mr. Bange, Council voted
unanimously to go into executive session to. discuss a legal matter:
Aye: Councilmembers Bange, Cole, Rodk, Tolbert. and'Nayor
Newman.
Nay: None.
It is noted that Mr. Titus joined the meeting during the execu-
tive session.
On motion of Mr. Titus , seconded by Mr. Cole, Council reconvened
at 9 : 37 P.M. :
Aye: Councilmembers Bange, Cole, Rock, Titus, Tolbert and
Mayor Newman. -
Nay: None.
77-14 - Resolution - Disapproving assignment of Transamerican Air-
ports, Inc. lease at Leesburg Municipal Airport.
On motion of Mr. Cole, seconded by Mr. Tolbert, the following
resolution was proposed and unanimously adopted:
RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Leesburg, Vir-
ginia, as follows :
This Council disapproves the assignment agreement dated Aug-
ust 26, 1976 as severally amended on September 2 and December
8, 1976 between Transamerican Airports, Inc. and Leesburg
Aviation Corporation of an agreement entered into ly the Town
on December 21 , 1964 as amended by agreement dated May 11 ,
1966 with Chantilly Aviation, Inc. assigned to Transamerican
Airports , Inc. by agreement date'd July 23, 1969 for the lease
of a portion of Leesburg Municipal Airport, Godfrey Field.
Aye: Councilmembers Bange, Cole, Rock, Titus, Tolbert and
Mayor Newman.
Nay: None.
On motion of Mr. Titus, seconded by Mr. Bange, Council voted
unanimously to recess this meeting until the call of the Chair:
Aye: Councilmembers Bange, Cole, Rock, Titus, Tolbert and
Mayor Newman.
Nay: None.
