A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A CITY OF RIVERDALE
DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Riverdale, Iowa, desires to establish a development
advisory committee to assist the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Mayor and Council in
in reviewing and evaluating private development proposals that are presented to the City; and,
WHEREAS,the purpose of the Development Advisory Committee is to assist in identifying a
proposed development's benefits, issues, costs, and impact on surrounding properties,
researching appropriate legislation for the City, and making recommendations regarding the
development process to be followed; and
WHEREAS,the Development Advisory Committee's roles and responsibilities include, but are
not limited to,the following:
A. Working with City staff, officials, and consultants to develop flow charts for orderly
processing of a proposed development in accordance with City ordinances.
B. Helping to identify persons or committees responsible each step of the development
process.
C. Assisting with communication among all parties involved in the development process.
D. Assisting with follow-up of project responsibilities.
WHEREAS, as with all Boards and Committees of the City of Riverdale, the Development
Advisory Committee will follow all open meeting rules, including posting of meeting agendas
and recording official minutes, with copies retained at City Hall.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RIVERDALE, IOWA:
That the City of Riverdale hereby establishes a Development Advisory Committee
consisting of five (5) or six(6) members to be appointed by the Mayor.
