HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 60-024 City Council endorsement on Proposition A and B in June 1960 ElectionRESOLUTION NO. 60 -24 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY ENDORS- ING A YES VOTE ON PROPOSITIONS A ✓: B IN JUNE 1960 ELECTION WHEREAS additional hospital facilities are desperately need- ed in the .County of Los Angeles to provide for the sick, and WHEREAS in Los Angeles County there are women prisoners who have only 23 square feet of floor space allotted to them, including that under their beds - if they have beds - since many female prison- ers must sleep on mattresses in corridors with one shower for 32 women and one toilet for lti, and WHEREAS unless the facilities for additional hospital and women jail facilities are provided for from bond sales the cost of construction will necessarily come from current tax monies and cause an immediate raise in the tax rate, and WHEREAS if bond sales are authorized the cost will be spread over the hext twenty years and people yet to come to this area, some who will use these facilities, would share the cost, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Temple City does resolve that the City of Temple City does hereby endorse a yes vote on Propositions A and B in the forthcoming June election, said propositions having a direct effect on the health and general welfare of the people of Temple City.
