AUG. 16TH, 1989
Mayor Jensen called the meeting to order at 7:45 p.m. Board
present were Klancke, Muhlbauer, Finlay, Schauner, Buchheister
and Johnston. Also present were Clay Brown and Vicky Winter.
Bills presented for payment: Muhlbauer made a motion to pay
these bills, 2nd Klancke, carried.
Table minutes.
Sheriffs Dept. gave the monthly status report.
Chamber gave their monthly report. Brian reviewed that they were
working on the budget, dues committee were meeting as well as the
marketing committee. Also that they would be at a joint meeting
with the Towns Boards of Winter Park and Fraser on the 7th of
Sept.
Manager report.
Brown discussed the written offer for settlement from
International Falls on the Ice Box trademark. After discussion,
Johnston made a motion to accept the settlement offer of $2000
and the town will give up the Federal Trademark, The town does
not wish to cause International Falls and disruption to there
Economic situation, and we do not want continuing costs to fight
this, 2nd Finlay, carried. Muhlbauer and Schauner voting no.
Klancke asked to find out if they could prove first use.
Fraser will offer to be a sister city with International Falls.
Brown reported that the work on the Amtrack improvements
were on schedule.
Wildlife Division has restocked the fishing pond for the last
time this year. However they restocked the wrong pond.
Brown is working on changes to the Personnel Policy. Board
directed that the changes be reviewed by the personnel committee
before they came to Town Board for review.
Water Termination letters are out, will report back to the Board.
Health Insurance has been reinstated without loss of any
benefits.
Board advised staff to cancel the next meeting if items did not
come in by next Friday.
No other business, board adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
