RESOLUTION OF TOWN COUNCIL
BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of River-
dale that this record be made of the sorrow with which we note the
loss of Vann S . Horrigan , Mayor of the Town from 1958 to 1972 , who
died in the City of Davenport , Iowa , on October 10 , 1977 ; that we
recall the many improvements to the Town accomplished or begun
during his tenure as Mayor , including the institution of proceed-
ings which have since led to the Town ' s sanitary sewer system and
park and playground area , the acquisition of the Town Hall , the
improvement , widening and traffic signals on State Street , the
participation of the Town in the sanitary landfill endeavor , and
many others ; that we remember him not only for his efforts and
ability as Mayor which contributed to the welfare of the Town ,
but also for his many kindnesses to Town officials , employees
and all others with whom he had contact over the years ; that his
memory be honored through this Resolution so that his life and
work with us and the affection with which we regarded him may
be permanently remembered and recorded ; and that deepest sym-
pathy be extended to his wife , Phyllis , and members of his
family ;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread
upon the permanent records of the Town of. Riverdale and that: an
executed copy be delivered to his wife .
Passed and approved this 6th day of December , 1977 .
