HomeMy Public PortalAbout1984_08_29SPEC 203 MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF LEESBURG TOWN COUNCIL, AUGUST 29, 1984. A special meeting of the Leesburg Town Council was held in the Council Chambers, 10 Loudoun Street, S.W. , Leesburg, Virginia on August 29, 1984 at 7:30 p.m. , pursuant to Notice thereof having been delivered to all Council members prior thereto. Present were: Mayor Robert E. Sevila, Councilmembers Charles A. Bos, Arl Curry, Marylou Hill, Brian T. Kelley, John W. Tolbert, Jr. and Charles J. Williams; also Acting Town Manager Jeffrey H. Minor, Assistant Manager for Planning and Development Marc Weiss and Town Attorney George M. Martin. The meeting was called to order by the Mayor. Council discussed density transfers and the possibility of getting the County interested in a boundary line adjustment to include the Balls Bluff area. Council asked that the boun- dary line adjustment matter be placed on its September 4 Finance & Administra- tion agenda; also that legislation be prepared to amend the Planned Develop- ment Regulations to incorporate a density transfer mechanism, including"send- I ing zone"criteria. This legislation will be on the Finance and Administration agenda on September 18th. 1 A motion, duly made and seconded, to appropriate $80.00 for registration and meal ticket for the banquet at the Virginia Municipal League meeting in September for John Niccolls was defeated by a vote of 4 to 3: Aye: Councilmembers Bos , Tolbert and Mayor Sevila. Nay: Councilmembers Curry, Hill, Kelley and Williams. A motion, duly made and seconded, to invite John Niccolls to attend the above-mentioned banquet was defeated by a vote of 4 to 3. Aye: Councilmembers Bos, Tolbert and Mayor Sevila. Nay: Councilmembers Curry, Hill, Kelley and Williams.
