RESOLUTION NO. 2-2014
WHEREAS, the Board of Sanitary Commissioners of the Richmond Sanitary District established
a Rainy Day Fund on May 25th, 2004 with Resolution 3 -2004 for the purpose of receiving
transfers of unused and unencumbered funds raised by general or special tax levies as provided
by IC 36- 1 -8 -5; and
WHEREAS, in any fiscal year, the Board of Sanitary Commissioners may transfer not more than
10% of the Solid Waste fund's annual budget for the fiscal year, as adopted under IC 6- 1.1 -17, to
the Rainy Day fund; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Sanitary Commissioners of the Richmond Sanitary District finds that
the purposes of the Solid Waste property tax fund have been fulfilled; and
WHEREAS, there is remaining in the Solid Waste property tax fund an unused and
unencumbered balance; therefore,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Sanitary Commissioners of the
Richmond Sanitary District do hereby transfer $180,000.00 from the Solid Waste property tax
fund 2013 remaining unused and unencumbered appropriations to the Rainy Day fund. This
fund shall be subject to the same appropriation process as other funds that receive tax money.
