President Robinson thanked Dian Lawson for her years of service and introduced Richard Foore as a member of the Board of Public Works and Safety. President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Present were: Vicki Robinson, Richard Foore and Tony Foster. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Karen Chasteen, City Clerk; Fire Chief Jerry Purcell, Deputy Fire Chiefs Tim Parrot & Tim Brown; Engineer Greg Stiens; Police Lt. Donnie Benedict; Human Resources Sue Roberson; Dave Inderstrodt, Maze Design; and, Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Foster moved to approve the minutes for the March 6, 2014 meeting with a second by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Foster moved to approve the claims for payment for March 14, 2014 in the amount of One Hundred Fifty Seven Thousand Twenty Seven Dollars and ninety cents ($157,027.90), supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. REQUESTS • STREET CLOSURE: SOUTH "E" STREET PROJECT March 17, 2014 —August 5, 2015 Phase I — 5th —8 th Streets Phase II — 8th _ 9th Streets Phase III — 9th — 16th Streets Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 40 -2014 — INDIANA UNIVERSITY (Fire Department) Clinical Experience for IU Students Contract No. 40 -2014 was tabled until the Program Name and Start date is finalized. • CONTRACT NO. 42 -2014 — LIFE STAR RESCUE (Fire Department) Two Ambulances Not to Exceed $247,494.00 Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 43 -2014 -CONTEMPORARY CONSULTING (Mayor) Consulting re economic development efforts Not to exceed $20,000.00 Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 44-2014— MURPHY ELEVATOR (Purchasing) Elevator Maintenance — 6 elevators Term of Contract — March 1, 2014 — February 28, 2018 Not to exceed $645.00 /month Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS • CONTRACT NO. 24 -2014 — CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 Maxwell Construction Company 1400 -1500 Industries Road /Stride Rite/Wolverine Not to exceed $292,853.00 Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore.
