HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-16-2018 Plan Commission Minutes Plan Commission Record of Minutes Date: October 16, 2018 Location: Village Hall CALL TO ORDER, PLEDGE, & ROLL CALL Chairman Kiefer called the Plan Commission meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and led the pledge to the flag. ROLL CALL: Commissioners Heinen, Minnis, Renzi, Womack, and Chairman Kiefer were present. Commissioner Seggebruch was absent. Plainfield Fire Protection District, Plainfield Public Library District, Plainfield Township Park District and Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 were absent. OTHERS PRESENT: Jake Melrose, Economic Development Manager APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes of the Plan Commission dated September 18, 2018 were approved as amended. PUBLIC COMMENTS No Comment. DEVELOPMENT REPORT Mr. Melrose provided an update on the Route 30 TIF District, and Greenbriar. Commissioner Heinen asked if the proposed hotel will be in the Route 30 TIF District. Mr. Melrose stated yes. OLD BUSINESS Case No. 1817-083018.SU.SP 22959 W Lincoln Highway (SWC Spangler/Lincoln Hwy) Suhas Patel Commissioner Renzi asked that staff add to the staff report how the hotel will affect the Route TIF District. Commissioner Renzi made a motion to continue case number 1817-083018.SU.SP and public hearing to the November 6, 2018 Plan Commission meeting. Second by Commissioner Minnis. Vote by roll call: Heinen, yes; Minnis, yes; Renzi, yes; Womack, yes; Kiefer, yes. Motion carried 5-0. NEW BUSINESS 2019 Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting Schedule Commissioner Heinen made a motion to accept the 2019 Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting Scheduled as presented. Second by Commissioner Womack. Vote by roll call: Heinen, yes; Minnis, yes; Renzi, yes; Womack, yes; Kiefer, yes. Motion carried 5-0. DISCUSSION Commissioner Renzi provided a written suggestion regarding traffic lanes 127th Street and 248th Street near Plainfield North High School. Plan Commission Minutes October 16, 2018 Page 2 of 2 2 Commissioner Heinen asked staff if they had any information on the progress of the Farmhouses construction of the approved site plan and he received complaints about the events that were held there in September. Mr. Melrose indicated they were permitted to have private events on the property and he will pass on the information to Code Enforcement. Commissioner Heinen stated the Farmhouse was using the grass area for parking. Commission Minnis provided an update on his communication with the Farmhouse owner. Commissioner Heinen stated that he has been receiving negative feedback on the look of the Plainfield Park District building on Renwick Road from the residences. Mr. Melrose indicated that residence can go to the Plainfield Park District Board and voice their concerns as well.
