Town Hall Art Gallery to Celebrate Grand Opening
on Friday, December 4, 2009
Inaugural exhibit will be “100 People of Loudoun County”
by Loudoun Country Day School students
Leesburg, VA (November 20, 2009) – The Leesburg Commission on Public Art is
pleased to announce the establishment of a new art gallery, located in the Leesburg
Town Hall at 25 West Market Street. A ribbon cutting for the gallery will be held at 5:30
p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2009.
The new Town Hall Art Gallery will feature rotating exhibits by Leesburg and Loudoun
artists. The gallery’s inaugural exhibit will be a composite of the “100 People of
Loudoun County” portrait project by 5th through 8th grade students of Loudoun Country
Day School.
The next art gallery exhibit will be the Countryside Quilters displaying their quilts and
other fiber art. That exhibit will open February 5, 2010.
Courtroom artist Bill Hennessy, who will be exhibiting at the art gallery in May 2010, will
also be on hand at the gallery’s inaugural opening with his new book, All Rise: Courts,
Crime, and Courtroom Art. Signed copies of the books will be available for purchase.
Artists interested having their work considered for a future exhibit in the Town Hall Art
Gallery should contact Anne Geiger, staff liaison to the Commission on Public Art, at
