RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF
"NATIONAL VIOLENCE PREVENTION/RED RIBBON WEEK"
WHEREAS, during the week of October 20 through 27, 2003, Carteret High School will
acknowledge along with other public schools in New Jersey, "National Violence
PreventiordRed Ribbon Week"; and
WHEREAS, the National Red Ribbon Campaign began in 1985 to encourage students to
be tobacco, alcohol, drag and violence free; and
WHEREAS, through the many activities plarmed throughout our Nation, our State and in
our Communities, we are hoping to eradicate violence and teach our students that there
are other ways to resolve their differences; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council wholeheartedly
support "National Violence Prevention/Red Ribbon Week" in the Borough of Carteret
and urge all residents to participate in the activities scheduled throughout the week of
October 20 through 27, 2003.
Adopted this 16th day of October, 2003
and certified as a tree copy of the
original on October 17, 2003.
