RESOLUTION. OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY REQUESTING DETACH-
MENT OF AREA FROM PARK RECREATION &
PARKWAY DISTRICT #8 (Rosemead) WITHIN
TEMPLE CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE AS
II FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, on May 25, 1560, the.City of Temple City was incor-
porated, and
WHEREAS. prior'to the incorporation of Temple City a south-
westerly portion of the area which is now incorporated within the bound-
aries of Temple City was and is presently a part of the PARK RECREATION
& PARKWAY DISTRICT #8 (Rosemead), and
WHEREAS, the City of Temple City desires to maintain its own
Park & Recreation service on a city wide basis, and
WHEREAS the people residing within the PARK RECREATION &
PARKWAY DISTRICT #8, (Rosemead), within the City of Temple City derive
no benefit from being in said District but will benefit from the Park
& Recreation program of the City of Temple City,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Temple City
does resolve as follows:
.SECTION i. The City Council of the City of Temple City does
hereby request the detachment of all areas of the City of Temple City
that are within the Park Recreation & Parkway District #8 ( Rosemead).
SECTION 2. The City Manager is instructed to forward a
certified copy of this Resolution to the Board of Supervisors, Govern-
ing Board of said PARK RECREATION & PARKWAY DISTRICT # 8, (Rosemead),
and take such other steps as -shall be necessary to carry out the iut_ent
of this resolution.
