HomeMy Public PortalAbout1995_10_13SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES OF OCTOBER 13, 1995 A special meeting of the Leesburg Town Council was held on Friday, October 13, 1995 at 9:00 a.m., in the first floor Executive Conference room, 25 West Market Street, Leesburg, Vir~nia. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Town Council's process for the Town Plan review. Notice having been delivered to all members of the Town Council prior thereto. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Clem. ROLL CALL Councilmembers present George F. Atwell Frank J. Buttery Jewell M. Emswiller Joseph R. Trocino Kristen C. Umstattd (absent) William F. Webb Mayor James E. Clem Staff members present Town Manager Steven C. Brown Director of Planning, Zoning and Development Michael Tompkins Assistant Town Manager for Economic Development John Henry King Chief of Comprehensive Planning Gerry Mucci MOTION: On motion of Ms. Emswiller, seconded by Mr. Buttery, the following resolution was proposed and unanimously adopted. 95-205 - RESOLUTION - SETTING A MEETING DATE WITH THE TOWN COUNCIL AND LEGISLATORS TO DISCUSS THE TOWN OF LEESBURG'S 1996 LEGISLATIVE PACKET WHEREAS, the Town Council has deemed it important to begin discussion on the town's 1996 Legislative Packet; and WHEREAS, it is the Council's desire to include, in these discussions, Delegates William Mires and Joe May and Senator Charles Waddell; and WHEREAS, on October 3, 1995, the Administration and Public Works Committee asked that legislation be prepared to schedule a joint meeting with the Town Council and legislators: THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: A joint meeting between the Town Council and legislators is hereby scheduled on October 24, 1995, at 5:30 P.M. in the first floor Executive Conference Room, 25 West Market Street, Leesburg, virginia. VOTE: Aye: Councilmembers Atwell, Buttery, Emswiller, Trocino, Webb and Mayor Clem Nay: None Absent: Councilmember Umstattd TOWN PLAN DISCUSSION Mr. Tompkins and Mr. Mucci presented the staff report.
