A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY ACKNOWLEDGING THE RE-
CEIPT OF NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CIRCULATE
A PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY
DESIGNATED AS "ANNEXATION NO. 2 A EAST TEMPLE
CITY, INHABITED," AND AN AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLI-
CATION THEREOF AND APPROVING THE CIRCULATION
OF THE PETITION
WHEREAS, a proposal was heretofore presented to the City
Council of the City of Temple City requesting the. City Council to give
its consent to the commencement of annexation proceedings in connection
with certain inhabited territory contiguous to the City of Temple City,
and
WHEREAS, a report and recommendations have been received from
the Planning Commission of the City of Temple City approving and re-
commending the annexation of said territory; and
WHEREAS, THE City Council of the City of Temple City in a
regular meeting of said City Council held on July 11, 1960, consented
to the commencement of annexation proceedings in connection with said
inhabited territory in accordance with the Annexation Act of 1913; and
WHEREAS, on August 25, 1960, there was filed with the City
Clerk of the City of Temple City a copy of a notice of intention to
circulate a petition relating to annexation of said territory to the
City of Temple City, under the Annexation Act of 1913, pertaining to
territory designated as "Annexation No. 2 A, East Temple City, Inhab-
ited", accompanied by a written statement containing reasons for the
petition, together with an affidavit of publication of said notice in
the TEMPLE CITY TIMES: and
WHEREAS, the Annexation Act of 1913 provides that the legis-
lative body may adopt a resolution acknowledging receipt of the notice
and approving the circulation of the petition;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Temple City:
SECTION 1. That the receipt of the notice, statement and
affidavit is hereby acknowledged, and that approval is hereby given
for the circulation of the petition for annexation of that territory
designated as "ANNEXATION NO. 2 A EAST TEMPLE CITY, INHABITED ": twenty -
one days after the publication of said notice and statement.
SECTION 2. The City Council does affirm its consent to an-
nexation proceedings of that territory designated as "ANNEXATION NO.
2 A, EAST TEMPLE CITY, INHABITED ".
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 25th day of August, 1960, by the
following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN- Buchan, Dickason, Merritt, Tyrell
& Fitzjohn
NOES: COUNCILMEN -None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN -None
