JULY 19, 1948
The Council of Bal Harbour Village met at the Administration Build-
ing at 8:00 P. M., July 19, 1948 to act as a Board of Equalization
for the tax roll period of January 1, 1948, to December 31, 1948.
The following members constituting a quorum were present: Messrs.
bonneau, Graham, Simons, and Southerland.
Absent: Mr. Whittaker.
Also present were Mr. W. H. Webb, Village Manager, and Mary
Wetterer, Village Clerk.
The Village Clerk reported that the tentative tax roll had been
posted in the village offices for seven days and no protests against
the tax roll had been received. There were no taxpayers present at
the meeting to protest the tentative tax assessments. After dis-
cussion of various items the council acting as the Board of Equali-
zation, on motion duly made, seconded and carried, accepted and
adopted the tax roll as presented by the Tax Assessor, fixing the
taxable value of real and personal property within the Village,
January 1, 1948 at $4,765,440.00.
The council then considered the Budget for operation of the
Village during the fiscal year October 1, 1948 to Septecher 30, 1949,
as presented by the Village Manger.
Mr. Southerland suggested that the hiring of an extra police officer
might be delayed a few months in order to lower disburseu.ents and on
motion of Mr. Uraham seconded by Mr. Simons it was voted that this
matter be left to the discretion of the Village Manager.
After consideration of various items and the entire budget, upon
JULY 19. 1948
motion of Mr. Bonneau, seconded by Mr. Simons, a resolution numbered
7, was adopted entitled:
Resolution No. 7
"A Resolution of the Council of Bal Harbour
Village, Florida, adopting a budget for the
said village for the period of October 1,
1948 to September 30, 1949 in the total
amount of $76,5:9.40."
Discussion followed on the amount of money needed to carry out
the 1948-1949 budget, and upon motion of Mr. Graham, seconded by
Mr. Bonneau, a resolution numbered 8 was adopted entitled:
Resolution No. 8
"A Resolution of the Council of gal Harbour
Village, Florida, making a tax levy for the
tax year 1948, and fixing the millage on real
and uersonal property in said village at
ten (10) mills."
A proposed ordinance relating to dogs in the village was tabled
for further study by members of the council.
There being no further business, upon motion of Mr. Simons,
seconded by Mr. Bonneau, the meeting adjourned.

building, at 8:00 o'clock P. M., September 13th, 1948.
