RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY APPROVING RECOMMENDA-
TIONS OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY AND GRANTING THE ZONE
VARIANCE OF THE FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH,
SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Temple City
at its regular meeting held in the City Hall, 9664 East Las Tunas Dr.,
Temple City, August 15, 1960, held a duly constituted public hearing
in regard to a zone variance request of the First Lutheran Church, and
WHEREAS, more than ten days have elapsed since the said meet-
ing of the Planning Commission on August 15, 1960, and no appeal has
been filed from the decision of the Planning Commission,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Temple City
does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. There are exceptional and extraordinary circum-
stances applicable to the property of the First Lutheran Church of
Temple City that do not apply generally to the property or class of
use in the same vicinity.
SECTION 2. That the granting of the variance requested by
the First Lutheran Church is necessary to and not detrimental to the
public health and general welfare and convenience of the community
and will not be injurious to the property in the vicinity.
SECTION 3. That the variance as requested is granted on the
following conditions:
(a) That the property be defeloped substantially in compli-
ance with the plot plan on file with the case.
(b) That the onstruction authorized by this exception be
completed prior to August 15, 1965.
(C) That the parking area and access ways as shown on the
plot plan on file with the case be paved with an asphaltic, concrete
or macadam type of surfacing and that all lights used on the parking
areas be directed away from adjacent residences.
(d) That a chain link fence not less than 6 feet in height
be erected and maintained adjacent to the parking area along the east-
erly property line.
(e) That signs shall be limited to one indirectly lighted
which shall not exceed twenty -four (24) square feet in size located
as shown on the plot plan.
(f) That this variance shall not be effective for any pur-
pose until the owner of the property involved has filed with the City
Clerk of Temple City his affidavit stating that he is aware of and
accepts all of the conditions of this variance.
(g) It is hereby declared to be the intent that if any pro-
vision of this variance is violated or held to be invalid, or if any
law, statute or ordinance is violated, the variance shall be void and
the privileges granted hereunder shall lapse.
