JULY 5, 1996
A special meeting of the Leesburg Town Council was held on Friday, July 5, 1996 at 9:30 a.m., in the
First Floor Executive Conference room, 25 West Market Street. Notice having been delivered to all
Councilmembers of the Leesburg Town Council priorthereto. The purpose of the meeting was to conduct a
news conference regarding the sale of Market Station and Vinegar Hill and South Street Parking lots. The
meeting was called to order by Mayor Clem.

Mayor Clem opened the meeting by reporting on the citing of bears in the Town of Leesburg. He encouraged
Leesburg citizens to be aware of the situation.
Mayor Clem announced that the sale of Market Station has come to fruition. He commended the Town
Council for their efforts in protecting the interest of the town and securing a competitive price for the
properties and ensuring the future success of Market Station. Mayor Clem highlighted various points in the
resolutions adopted on July 3, 1996.
Deputy Town Attorney Deborah Welsh commented that the negotiations were extensive.
