Street Closures for Downtown Snow Removal
Scheduled for Tuesday, December 22, 2009
Clearing of On-Street Parking Spaces to Begin at 6:00 a.m.
Leesburg, VA (December 21, 2009) – On Tuesday, December 22, 2009, Town crews
will be removing snow from the on-street parking areas of downtown streets, beginning
at 6:00 a.m. Crews will close each block during removal and reopen when completed.
Snow removal will begin on North King Street at North Street and proceed south to
Loudoun Street. Market Street will be cleared next, starting at Wirt Street and
proceeding east to Church Street. Finally, Loudoun Street will be cleared, starting at
Church Street and proceeding west to Wirt Street. The snow removal efforts will be
limited to the parking meter side of the streets involved.
Snow removal will take about 1 to 2 hours per block. Drivers’ patience and cooperation
with crew directions will help expedite the snow removal process.
