Residents Requested to Clear Snow
From Around Fire Hydrants
Assistance Needed to Provide Emergency Access
Leesburg, VA (December 21, 2009) – Town of Leesburg officials are requesting that
residents please assist with clearing snow from around fire hydrants, if possible. There
are hundreds of fire hydrants throughout Town, and the snow must be cleared by hand
to avoid damaging them. With Town street crews concentrating on clearing streets, it
could be several days before Town crews clear access to all of the fire hydrants. Town
officials are urging residents, as they clear their driveways and sidewalks, to take a few
extra minutes to clear any fire hydrants in front of their houses.
