HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-14-2019 COW Minutes afip/.0/01-ee /49/409 Minutes of the Committee of the Whole Workshop of the President and the Board of Trustees Held on January 14, 2019 In the Boardroom Mayor Collins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Board Present: Mayor Collins, Trustee Wojowski, Trustee Bonuchi, Trustee Lamb, Trustee Newton, and Trustee O'Rourke. Board absent: Trustee Larson. Others present: Brian Murphy, Administrator; Jon Proulx, Planning Director; Allen Persons, Public Works Director; Ken Goska, Building Official; and John Konopek, Police Chief. Trustee Lamb moved to approve the Minutes of the Committee of the Whole Workshop held on December 10, 2018. Second by Trustee Newton. Vote by roll call. Wojowski, yes; Bonuchi, yes; Lamb,yes; Larson, absent;Newton, yes; O'Rourke, yes; 5 yes, 0 no, 1 absent. Motion carried. PRESIDENTIAL COMMENTS Mayor Collins urged everyone to keep off the ice on the retention ponds. TRUSTEE COMMENTS No Comments. PUBLIC COMMENTS Mr. Jim East, Dayfield HOA President, expressed concern regarding not having crosswalks at the intersection of Wallin Drive and 143rd Street. WORKSHOP 1) 2019-2020 DRAFT FISCAL YEAR BUDGET Mr. Allen Persons gave a presentation regarding the draft 2019-2020 Fiscal Year Budget for the Water and Sewer Department. Mr. Persons reviewed the mission statement, organizational chart, Lake Water Station and System, Wastewater Treatment Facility, cost savings initiatives, costs for service, capital repair and replacement, and the Village Green Project. There was some general discussion regarding the costs of replacing the lead service lines. There was general consensus that the Village should be responsible for the costs of the replacement; Trustee O'Rourke expressed concern regarding the Village paying for the costs of the replacement lead service lines. At 7:50 p.m. Trustee Lamb left the meeting. Mrs. Traci Pleckham then reviewed the draft revenue and expenses for the Water and Sewer Fund. On a motion from Trustee Bonuchi and second by Trustee Newton, the meeting adjourned at 8:12 p.m. Air - / moi / Michelle Gibas, Village Clerk
