HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 60-0911 RESOLUTION NO. 60 -91 RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO CITY OF TEMPLE CITY OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DES- CRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "ANNEXATION NO. 3 -A WEST TEMPLE CITY UNINHABITED ", AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexa- tion of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 ", as amended, the City Council of the City of Temple City on its own motion does hereby initiate pro- ceedings for the annexation to the City of Temple City of the herein- after described territory; that said territory is contiguous to the City of Temple City, is hereby designated "Annexation No. 3 -A West Temple City Uninhabited ", and is described in Exhibit "A" hereto attach- ed and made a part hereof by reference. SECTION 2. That the City Council of the City of Temple City desires to annex said territory for the reasons that it is contiguous to the City of Temple City, and its annexation will contribute to the growth and develooment of both the City of Temple City and of said ter- ritory. SECTION 3. That December 1Z 1960, at 8 :00 o'clock P. M. of said day, at 9664 E. Las Tunas Drive, City of Temple City, County of Los Angeles, State of California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any person owning real property within the uninhabited territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Temple City and having anytobjections to the proposed annexation may appear before the Council of the City of Temple City and show cause why such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to said City of Temple City. Such protest must be in writing, may be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections to the proposed annex- ation, and shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of property affected and the description and area of such property in general terms. SECTION 4. The City Clerk of the City of Temple City is hereby authorized and directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published at least twice, but not oftener than once a week, in the Temple City Times, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Temple City and in the Pasadena Star News, a newspaper of general circulation published outside the City of Temple City but in the County of Los Angeles, California, the county in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Temple City, said publication to be complete at least twenty (20) days prior to the date set for hearing. And the said City Clerk is further authorized and directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll available on the date the above said proceedings were initiated, at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to said Clerk, and to any per- son who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which he has an interest, either legal or equitable, with said Clerk, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation; And in the event any land within the territory proposed to be annexed is owned by a county, the said City Clerk is directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such county, such notice to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed an- nexation; 109 Resolution No. 60 -91 page 2 And the said City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto, in the manner required by law. ADOPTED THIS 14th day of Npvember , 1960, by the follow- ing vote: Ayes: Councilmen- Buchan, Dickason, Merritt, Tyrell & Fitzjohn Noes: Councilmen- None Absent: Councilmen: None ATTEST: City Clerk V itya& Temple City, California. 110 ANNEXATION NO. 3 -A (West 'lemple City Uninhabited) 'l bat parcel of land in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, included within the following described boundary: Beginning at the intersection of the Westerly line of Reno Avenue (50 feet wide) with the Northerly line of Lot 70 of Tract No. 3623 as shown on map recorded in Book 40, Page 52 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said County; thence Southerly along said Westerly line and along the Southerly prolongation thereof to the Southerly line of that portion of Las Tunas Drive shown as Parcel 83 on Sheet 1 of Clerk's Filed Map No. 1660 recorded in said County Recorder's office, and as described in final Judgment rendered in Case No. 269, 622 of the Superior Court of said State of California, in and for said County of Los Angeles, a copy of said I anal Judgment being recorded in Book 12289, Page 277 of said Official Records; thence Westerly along the Southerly lines of Parcels 83, 82, 81, 80B, 80 and 80A as shown on said last mentioned map, to the Westerly line of Eaton Wash as described in deed to Los Angeles County Flood Control District recorded in Look 7230, Page 110 of Deeds in said County Recorder's office; thence Northerly along last mentioned Westerly line to the Westerly pro- longation of the Northerly line of Lot 68 of said Tract 3623; thence Easterly along said prolongation and along the Northerly line of Lots 68, 69, and 70 of said Tract No. 3623 to the point of beginning.
