ATTEST:- c C' erk 50 North Fifth Street RICNFVIOND, INDIANA 47374 January 31, 1979 Mr. Kenneth Paust, President Mashers of Common Council & Mrs. JoEllen Trimble, City Clerk Municipal Building Rich=d, Indiana 47374 Re: Ordinance No, 5-1979 Plan Commission. Case PC-79-3 Dear Mr. Paust, Members of Cmam Council and Yxs. Trimble: The RiclT=d City Plan Commission met Tuesday, January 23, 1979, to hear the petition of Jerry Stanton. requesting change of zoning from the present R-2 One-Fairaly Residential District and M-2 General In- dustrial District for the entire parcel, looted on Union Puce, north of Industries Road (Ruhlen Road).. The Ordinance, as introduced on first reading, is in error in respect to the legal description of the property proposed to be rezoned. This error was corrected at the Plan Cani.ssion meting, and a copy of the amended Ordinance is enclosed in your Council packet. Mr. Robert Reinke, Attorney, appeared in behalf of the petitioner and seven (7) persons spoke in opposition. The request for rezoning is a logical contination of existing M-2 zoning as the .property is bounded on, the south and Unst property lines by industrial zoning. Projects pl.azned in the area of Union Pike are p7arned to serve industrial growth rather than residential. growth. Therefore, the Plan Cormission voted ten (10) ayes and zero (0) nayes in favor of amended Ordinance Na. 5-1979. Respectfully submitted, DEPAR'LMMT CITY PiANNING Robert B. Coodwin Director lvl
